More than 40 days after the incident of a young man called "the CEO" giving orders to his juniors at a coffee shop in an urban area of Hanoi caused a stir in public opinion, new developments continue to attract public attention.
Most recently, a representative of Vinh Tuy Ward Police confirmed that NLV - the person who directly affected employee M.D. (born in 1997), is still being detained to serve the investigation process. According to information from the authorities, the case is being further clarified to fully determine the actions and motives of the parties involved before making a final conclusion.
On the same day, NVT (born in 1998), who is said to have "raised his hand" to signal his younger brother to physically impact the victim, suddenly posted a long post on his personal Facebook page, speaking up about the incident. In the post, T. expressed his heartache when his younger brother was detained for many days, and at the same time expressed his wish to be forgiven by the victim so that the incident could end peacefully.
"Because of a slap and a punch in a moment of anger, a young man in his twenties, still young, is now in detention, far from his family, far from his parents and far from the future that lay ahead," T. wrote.
In addition, this young man also attached a photo of the "request for information support" form sent to the coffee shop owner in September, requesting to extract video footage from the security camera to clarify the incident.
However, T.'s actions did not receive the sympathy he expected. Immediately after the article was shared, many netizens expressed their indignation, saying that T. was "complaining" to the perpetrator while the victim was the one who suffered. Most opinions affirmed that acts of violence should be strictly handled according to the law to avoid setting a bad precedent.
As for the victim, M.D.âs mother said she did not want to comment further on the case. She hopes the authorities will soon come to a conclusion and handle the case fairly.
Previously, according to the information provided, on the afternoon of September 17, NVT and NLV and a group of friends went to a coffee shop managed by Mr. M.D.'s family in the Times City urban area. While sitting at the shop, the group of customers were said to have smoked, forcing the staff to remind them. At this time, T. was said to have signaled his younger brother to physically impact M.D.
After the incident, the victim was stunned, frightened and had signs of pain in his face. His family quickly reported the incident to Vinh Tuy Ward Police. Just a few days later, NLV was detained for investigation.
Ms. X. said that on the morning of September 19, when she heard that her younger brother was detained, NVT returned to the coffee shop to apologize, hoping to talk to her family. However, this apology was rejected. "For my family, it is too late to apologize now. When my son was in the hospital, they did not ask anything, and even went online to protest, saying that my son was at fault. Everything will now be decided by the law," Ms. X. shared.
Explaining why he did not come to apologize sooner, T. said that he had to wait for the police to complete the procedures so he could not meet the victim's family immediately. He also denied "ordering" others to physically impact him, saying that he only wanted his younger brother to come out and talk to him after being warned with harsh words.
The CEO ordered to "punish" the coffee shop employees: The company has a capital of 3 billion, teaching life skills.
