CEO Pham Duy Khanh's emotionless statement in the finale of Miss Vietnam Global Tourism 2024 in the midst of the storm disaster No. 3 has caused the online community to wave.

Speaking on live television, CEO Pham Duy Khanh shared that Hai Phong is not only famous for its seaport but also has many beauties who have won high prizes in beauty contests. He is proud of organizing this contest in the port city, after many years of Hai Phong being absent from beauty events.

However, what made the online community angry was Mr. Khanh's statement : "I am proud to be a child of Hai Phong city, after many years of the city's absence of beauty contests, I risked my life to return, put forward the idea of organizing the contest and was approved by the City People's Committee".

Next, Mr. Khanh emphasized: "We have been very happy and have received a very big storm from the past until now and this is also a very special point of this year's contest".

This statement immediately caused outrage, because on September 7, Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) made landfall in Hai Phong, causing heavy damage to people and property. Statistics from the People's Committee of Hai Phong City show that storm No. 3 has caused 2 deaths and 65 injuries. More than 100,000 homes, hundreds of defense buildings, schools, medical facilities, and tens of thousands of hectares of farmland were damaged. It is estimated that the total damage is up to 11,000 billion VND.

Those sad numbers made CEO Pham Duy Khanh's statement strongly condemned by netizens. Many people think that Mr. Khanh's words are thoughtless and insensitive to the pain of the people who are heavily affected by storms and floods.

In the face of a wave of fierce criticism from the public, this CEO apologized on his personal page. Specifically, CEO Pham Duy Khanh shared: "When speaking on live television, Khanh said 'We are very happy to welcome the biggest storm ever'.

In fact, Khanh Dinh said ' We are very happy that the contest is still taking place even though Hai Phong has just encountered the biggest storm ever'. However, as the head of the organizing committee and general director of the program, Khanh was too distracted because before the opening time, the torrential rain poured for nearly an hour, both worried about the guests, the stage, the contestants, the artists participating in the performance, worried about the fireworks, etc The stage of things should be as tense as strings. Already, Khanh's statement paper was printed, but because of the rain and wind, it was wet and broken, so Khanh decided to speak and this unfortunate incident occurred."

This CEO said that he sincerely apologized to all the audience because no matter how clear it was, that word had inadvertently hurt many people: "Khanh sincerely bows his head and apologizes to everyone, and looks forward to forgiveness!".

This CEO said that he is a child of Hai Phong City, organizing the contest in his hometown, on the occasion of the storm, so he faced many difficulties. He decided to cancel some of the competition's events to join hands in rebuilding the city after the storm.

"Khanh thinks that those activities are practical and meaningful in the days when the whole city is struggling to fight the storm, Khanh is well aware of that, so he has changed the activities of the contest to bring the contestants meaningful experiences, not just performing on stage as usual", this CEO shared.

Pham Duy Khanh, also known as Kenbi Khanh Pham, born in 1992 in Hai Phong, is the Founder and CEO of Five6 Entertainment. He used to be behind the success of many beauties such as Lai Huong Thao, Chung Huyen Thanh.

In 2021, Mr. Khanh organized the Miss Vietnam Tourism Global contest for the first time in Phan Thiet. This year, for the first time in 15 years, Hai Phong became the venue for this beauty contest under his direction.
