CeCe Truong: Daughter of Cam Van - Khac Trieu, had an accident that crushed her lungs, paralyzing her limbs

CeCe Truong is known as the daughter of famous singers Cam Van - Khac Trieu. Instead of relying on her famous parents, the young female singer wants to succeed on her own and make her family proud of her.

To Vietnamese audiences, artists Cam Van and Khac Trieu are not unfamiliar names. They are not only famous in the entertainment industry but also have a happy married life that many people admire. The couple has two talented daughters together, including young singer Cece Truong.

Singer CeCe Truong's real name is Truong Hoang Van Khanh, born on January 12, 1998 in Ho Chi Minh City. Born into a family with a musical tradition, she inherited the ability to sing and play musical instruments.

After graduating from the University of Economics at ERC Institute, Cece realized she had a strong passion for art so she decided to train to pursue a professional singing career. With the desire to become a singer, she seriously studied vocal music at MPU light music school in the city. HCM. Before that, Cece also graduated from courses in classical piano and piano accompaniment.

Despite her passion for singing, CeCe Truong was always surrounded and protected by her parents and did not want her to go into the hustle and bustle of showbiz. Artist Cam Van once shared: "From the beginning, we did not want our two children to pursue art, on this path. Our first daughter, SuSu, went to school first and is abroad. Then there was Cece Truong, even though she was very young. We are passionate about music. The problem we don't want is to be afraid that we won't be able to stand the pressure."

It wasn't until an incident happened in 2015 that the artist and his wife changed their minds. Accordingly, while Cam Van and Khac Trieu were in Vietnam, their two daughters were involved in a serious traffic accident in the US. Eldest daughter Susu suffered minor injuries, while Cece suffered multiple serious head and neck injuries, a crushed lung and broken vertebrae, paralyzing all four limbs. Watching her daughter fight with life and death, it was thanks to her strong love for music that CeCe Truong overcame all the pain and came back. At this point, artist Cam Van seems to have been completely convinced to let her daughter carry out her passion after she gets better.

CeCe Truong's passion and desire are so great that they cannot be measured or described in any words. Even when an accident caused her to become a quadriplegic, no one saw the weakness in this young singer. But when she woke up from the coma and heard her voice again, she cried like a child because of happiness.

Cece Truong shared: "It can be said that that terrible accident made my passion for music burn even more. I told myself that in the future I must live my life with music. Before, I thought If I don't sing anymore, it will make my parents happy, but if I do, I will live contrary to my passion. When I was not studying abroad, my parents were against my singing, but after that accident, they understood support me more."

In 2020, Cece Truong marked the journey of pursuing a professional singing career with the release of MV Virus.

She confided: "I followed my parents to sing for a long time before entering the professional path in 2020. Recently, I have released three music products. I admit that my songs have not yet made a mark. In the market, I didn't get the desired number of views. At first, I struggled to shape the style, find songs, and arrange musicians. Cam Van's mother and Khac Trieu's father were not familiar with digital music I didn't get much support. I made my first MV Virus by myself, I made a mistake when it was released at the wrong time, and the effect was low. I learned lessons and experiences to make the next products better.

Besides projects, I also sing many of my predecessors' songs, but I'm always criticized for choosing music that's hard to listen to and old before my time. Perhaps, my music is more or less influenced by my parents.

Both are famous for their fastidiousness, so they rarely let their daughter go out. I often interact with my parents' close colleagues such as singer Quang Dung and famous singer Tuan Ngoc when they come to visit. Gradually, I began to talk like older people."

Up to now, the young female singer has not really emerged and escaped the shadow of her famous parents, but she is trying every day to assert herself. Cece Truong said that she is trying to make people know and love her more.

"For me, my mother is a monument, so I limit singing her songs to avoid comparisons. My path is also different from hers, I choose the r&b and pop genres to pursue. The story is that I am the child of Cam Van - Khac Trieu cannot change. I do not try to escape their shadow but seek to stand independently so as not to be dependent.

At the age of 25, I still don't feel satisfied with myself, I always feel lacking. I always put pressure on myself to strive. In the past, when talking about CeCe Truong, many people only knew that it was Cam Van - Khac Trieu's daughter. Now, when I sing, the audience knows my name without knowing who I am," she shared.
