Singer Nguyen Hong Nhung: Sad past, 44 years old, pregnant but still singing

Two failed marriages, raising an autistic chil.d and being a single mother in a foreign land did not make Nguyen Hong Nhung fall. On the contrary, the female singer born in 1981 still stood up resiliently, rebuilt her life and continued to devote herself to art with a strong passion.

Childhood in a 13m2 house

Nguyen Hong Nhung was born in 1981 into a working-class family in Hanoi. Her father was a construction contractor and her mother was an accountant, but the family was not well off. Her childhood was spent in a house of only 13 square meters. Despite the difficult living conditions, the family still tried to create conditions for their daughter to pursue art.

From a young ag.e, Nguyen Hong Nhung showed her musical talent. She was a familiar face on the children's program "Little Flower" in the prime time slot of 7 pm. At that time, if the South had famous names like Hien Thuc and Ngoc Linh, in the North, Nguyen Hong Nhung was a prominent representative.

Not relying on her parents, the female singer paid for her own vocal tuition with a scholarship and her salary from participating in television programs, although each show only paid a few tens of thousands of dong. Later, she studied vocal music at the Hanoi College of Culture and Arts and at the same time pursued a major in fashion design at the Hanoi Open University.

Two marriages and single motherhood

Nguyen Hong Nhung first married the younger brother of singer Trizzie Phuong Trinh – Bang Kieu’s ex-wife – and gave birth to her first son named Skyler. However, this marriage broke up in 2013. After that, she found happiness with overseas Vietnamese businessman Minh Quan and gave birth to another daughter named Su Kem. But the second family only lasted 4 years, when both confirmed their separation in 2019.

Not only did Nguyen Hong Nhung experience two broken relationships, she also had to face the pai.n of her first son being diagnosed with autism. Her daughter was still young, so in addition to performing, she devoted all her time to her children. Being a single mother in a foreign country, without any support from relatives, made her life even more difficult.

"There were times when I thought I couldn't stand up anymore. But looking at my children, I couldn't fall down. They are the biggest motivation that helps me live and move on," Nguyen Hong Nhung once shared.

In order to maintain her job and take care of her children, the singer brought her biological mother to live with her in the US. Her mother became a strong support, helping her look after her grandchildren whenever she had to go on tour.

New Love and Reborn Hope

After many years of ups and downs, Nguyen Hong Nhung is now happily married to her new partner, businessman Dominico Le, 51 years old. The two met in a rather special circumstance: Dominico invited her to be a brand ambassador for his business, through an acquaintance. At that time, he had no idea that Nguyen Hong Nhung was a famous singer. From partners, they became friends and then developed feelings for each other.

"He is like my twin soul. He is the one who has accompanied, understood and motivated me to return to the stage and live more fully with music," Nguyen Hong Nhung said emotionally. According to her, they have known each other for 30 years and this time their feelings come from deep understanding.

8 months pregnant and still singing on stage

Recently, in a clip posted by comedian Thuy Nga while attending a music night in the US with artists such as Quang Le and Nguyen Hong Nhung, the audience was surprised when she revealed her large pregnant belly.
