1.2-meter crocodile swimming in a Koi aquarium: ownerless, the cause of the unexpected appearance?

A 1.2-meter-long crocodile suddenly appeared in a family's Koi aquarium in Lao Cai city, causing confusion for the family and neighbors.

Early in the morning of October 5, an unexpected incident occurred at the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (born 1985), residing in Coc Leu ward, Lao Cai city.

Mr. Hung discovered a crocodile about 1.2 meters long swimming in the family's Koi aquarium, causing the fish to panic and swim wildly. The appearance of the crocodile in the middle of the city's residential area has caused a lo.t of surprise and confusion for everyone around.

Immediately after the discovery, Mr. Hung quickly asked for the support of neighbors to surround the crocodile. After being caught, he immediately reported the incident to the authorities. Receiving the news, the Coc Leu Ward Police coordinated with the Lao Cai City Forest Protection District to the scene to conduct an inspection and verify the incident.

Through inspection, the functional forces determined that the crocodile was 1.2 meters long and weighed 7.5 kg. However, it is worth mentioning that no one claims to be the owner of this crocodile, and its origin is still unknown.

After making a record, the Coc Leu Ward Police handed over the crocodile to the Lao Cai City Forest Protection District for handling in accordance with the law. Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate the origin of this crocodile and ensure that similar situations do not occur that endanger people.

This strange incident has attracted great attention from the community, especially when it happened right in the downtown area, where no one thought a crocodile could appear.

Previously, in Kien Giang province, 6 crocodiles were also found to have jumped into the lake in the park. After discovering the incident, the locality has recaptured 2 animals, and is searching for the remaining 4. According to VOV, the Kien Giang Forest Protection Department has official information about the crocodile cage case at An Hoa Cultural Center Park, Rach Gia City.

Accordingly, it has been determined that there are 6 crocodiles that broke out of the cage, currently the location of these 6 crocodiles has not been determined.

After tracing, the People's Committee of Rach Gia City reported that 2 out of 4 crocodiles were caught out of the lake of An Hoa Cultural Center Park, the Forest Protection Sub-Department directed the Mobile Forest Ranger and Forest Fire Protection Team to exchange, working with Mr. Le Quang Nghia - Director of An Hoa Cultural Park asked the unit to pump and drain the water to accurately determine the number of cages.

Through the inspection by the method of pumping and draining the water in the crocodile cage, the Inspection Team has determined that there are 6 crocodiles that have broken out of the cage, currently the location of these 6 crocodiles has not been determined. The total number of crocodiles being raised at An Hoa Cultural Park is 44, the tally at the cage is only 38.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Le Quang Nghia - Director of An Hoa Cultural Park said that the park's lake has an area of about 7 hectares wide and 5 meters deep. Around the lake, there are many shops selling water for visitors to visit. Therefore, the unit is putting up danger warning signs around the park lake area, and at the same time remaking the crocodile cage for sure.

The locality also recommends that people should not approach near the lake area. In particular, if you find a crocodile anywhere, you can report it to the unit or locality to catch it.

Currently, to ensure the safety of people, the functional forces have asked the Director of An Hoa Cultural Park to suspend recreational activities related to lakes; games near the area of groves and bushes where crocodiles can live. In addition, dangerous signs are placed around the lake and some swamps and bushes to warn people not to go near dangerous areas.
