The secret marriage of a man with 31 wives and a woman with 23 husbands

One of the thrilling stories about marriage recorded by the Guinness Book of Records is the "polygamous" love story of an American couple. It seemed unreal, but a man with 31 wives met and married a woman with 23 husbands.

This special marriage is between Glyn and Linda from the United States. Mr. Glyn (1908 - 1997), was a Baptist minister residing in Blythe, California. The last time he got married, he married Linda Taylor.

The common point is that they are both famous for being the two record holders for the most monogamous marriages. If Mr. Glyn has had 31 marriages, then Mrs. Linda is not far behind with a record of 23 ex-husbands.

Regarding Mr. Glyn, his shortest marriage was only 19 days, and his longest marriage was 11 years.

He remarried three times to the person with whom he had just signed the divorce papers. Specifically, he married Charlotte again in 1936, after divorcing her earlier that year; married Katherine for the second time in 1949 after breaking up the previous year; and remarried Sharon in 1960 after divorcing the previous year. Wolfe's longest marriage was 11 years to his 28th wife, Christine, 37 years his junior.

As for Linda, her taste in choosing a husband is indeed inconsistent. She can marry many different types of men. She was once married to a homeless person, a musician, a plumber... However, this is not the strangest thing, it seems that she is not afraid of any kind of man. She was once married to an inmate named Tom Stutzman at Pendleton Reformatory, Indiana, while he was serving a sentence for "humiliating" women.

Linda said her best husband was Jack Gourley, whom she divorced and reunited with three times. According to Linda, she liked this guy mainly because he had a habit of impromptu dating and a strange habit of swimming naked.

However, at the last marriage, the secret behind this seemingly beautiful relationship was a game to polish their reputation. Because just a week after the wedding, Linda returned to her hometown in Indiana, but she kept her married name. Linda revealed that she dreams of having a plaque with her name on it at the entrance to her hometown, in honor of her incredible record.

After 23 husbands, Linda has a total of 7 children and is the stepmother of many more. Before her death, she lived alone for 12 years. Many times she shared that she felt very lonely so she thought about remarrying. Linda remembers her brilliant youth, she is still very proud: "When I was young, I was just a flat-nosed girl, but the boys in the neighborhood all loved me. They all wanted to marry me."

However, her final advice for young people is: "You should only get married once. There is no bed full of roses, believe me." At the end of her life, Linda moved to a nursing home and died on September 27, 2009.

Her last husband, Mr. Glyn, also passed away just 45 days after his 89th birthday. Glynn has about 40 children. But sadly, none of his children claimed his remains after Glyn breathed his last in Redlands, California. He was eventually buried in Blythe. None of the 28 women he was legally married to attended his funeral, not unless they had passed away, or were unknown, but even so this was a sad thing. Of his 40 children, only one came to say goodbye to him one last time.
