Doctor Thanh Tinh: 'teasing' Nha Le about being arrested, a career history full of drama?

Truong Thanh Tinh used social media to post many articles and statements with content that insulted the honor and dignity of Ms. Nha Le - the owner of a large beauty salon in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City Police announced today that the Thu Duc City Police Investigation Agency has issued a decision and order to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Truong Thanh Tinh (also known as "Mr. Lee", 35 years old, from Dien Ban, Quang Nam province, currently residing in An Phu ward, Thu Duc city) for the crime of "Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon personal interests". The above decisions and orders were approved by the Thu Duc City People's Procuracy.

Previously, Ms. Nha Le (real name is Le Thi Hong Nga, 39 years old, General Director of JT Angel Cosmetic Hospital, in District 6) sent a petition to the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (PA05) - Ho Chi Minh City Police accusing Tinh of insulting her honor and dignity, affecting her spirit and life.

Ms. Le said that Tinh used social networks such as Facebook, Youtube, Tiktok... to post many articles and direct statements with content that insulted her honor and dignity; affected her image, reputation, and caused material damage in her work. Department PA05 coordinated with Thu Duc City Police to investigate and invited Tinh to work.

Tinh admitted that the accounts and videos that Ms. Nha Le provided in the complaint all belonged to Tinh. In addition, Tinh admitted his mistake in not having a certificate to practice cosmetic services, not having attended any training courses on medical examination and treatment services, but luring others to use medical examination and treatment services.

The subject also admitted that much of the information he stated and posted was self-researched on social networks and had not been verified; typically the statement "99% of cosmetic clinics in Vietnam do not have degrees or licenses to perform surgery...".

Or the statements about the activities at Ms. Nha Le's beauty salon, Tinh said, were heard but not directly witnessed or learned from the internet, even Tinh's own speculation based on subjective opinions and not verified or authenticated; Tinh's purpose was to use this information to discredit Ms. Nha Le.

Thu Duc Police Department has decided to request an appraisal, the Department of Information and Communications has concluded the appraisal, determining that the above information is fabricated, untrue, infringing on the honor, reputation, dignity or causing damage to the rights and legitimate interests of agencies, organizations and individuals. Thu Duc City Police Department is expanding the investigation.

Previously in 2023, Truong Thanh Tinh was fined 115 million VND and was suspended from operations. "Doctor Mr. Lee" and his wife continued to perform illegal cosmetic surgery, removing the seal of the cosmetic facility to receive customers.

The Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has just issued a decision to administratively sanction violations of the medical examination, treatment and prevention department against many individuals and medical examination and treatment facilities in the area.

Accordingly, the Health Department Inspectorate fined Mr. Truong Thanh Tinh (also known as "Doctor Mr. Lee") at 15 Nguyen Quy Canh, An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City VND 30 million and suspended medical examination and treatment activities until he has a practice license and practice certificate.

The Health Department Inspectorate said that Mr. Tinh had violated the medical field by using drugs, substances, and devices that interfere with the human body, changing the skin color, shape, weight, and defects of body parts; tattooing, spraying, and embroidering using injectable anesthetics in facilities other than hospitals with cosmetic specialties, cosmetic clinics, or medical facilities with cosmetic specialty activities.

Notably, previously, on October 3, "Doctor Mr Lee" was issued a decision by the Department of Health Inspectorate to administratively fine him more than VND 115 million for the following acts: Providing medical examination and treatment without a medical practice certificate; providing medical examination and treatment services without a medical examination and treatment license; advertising medical examination and treatment services without a medical examination and treatment license.

The facility of "Doctor Mr Lee" was also suspended until it had an operating license. However, on November 15, the authorities conducted a surprise inspection and discovered that "Doctor Mr Lee and his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong, were conducting illegal cosmetic surgery. Notably, Mr. Tinh also removed the seal and continued to receive customers to perform surgery.
