It is known that this heart was taken from an unfortunate brain-dead organ donor at Viet Duc Hospital (Hanoi), transplanted to a male patient suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy for 10 years at Hue Central Hospital.

Sharing with the press, Hue Central Hospital said that when starting to take organs from donors, the heart will be removed last after other organs. According to the calculated schedule, the heart will be on the same flight time to bring it back to Hue in time. However, the surgery took longer than expected.

The hospital quickly informed the crew and the airline above, the airline decided to postpone the take-off of the plane to wait for this "precious" heart.
