Mr. Thai Ngo Hieu (born in 1989), an officer of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Dong Nai Provincial Police, has been promoted from Lieutenant to Captain since April 10, 2022. Previously, at 7:50 a.m. on April 10, 2022, at Zenna resort beach (Phuoc Tinh commune, Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), Mr. Hieu heard shouts and discovered that a group of people had drowned, so he urgently went to this area. There were 1 man and 3 women who drowned and were rescued by Mr. Thai Ngo Hieu and brought ashore in an unconscious state, with purple limbs. With first aid skills, he saved the lives of all 4 victims.

Recently, on April 13, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc also signed Decision No. 443/QD-CTN awarding the Medal of Courage to Captain Thai Ngo Hieu for his brave actions to save lives, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland. The Decision takes effect from the date of signing.

The President emphasized that these are really brave, compassionate and noble actions that are admired and respected by the people and proposed that the Ministry of Public Security and Dong Nai Provincial Police have a form of commendation and reward worthy of Lieutenant Thai Ngo Hieu. The examples of selflessness for the lives of these victims in the community need to be promptly spread so that many people have more faith in the good things in life.
