Recently, the Covid-19 pandemic broke out around the world, claiming the lives of many people, causing economic activity to be delayed and disturbed.
Therefore, the Coavid-19 vaccine was born to prevent and reverse the disease and reduce the risk of death. However, there are people who refuse to be vaccinated and many of them have paid a heavy price.
Recently, female operating room technician Samantha Wendell (29 years old) from Grand Rivers, Kentucky, USA, unfortunately passed away after fighting COVID-19. She and her fiancé Austin Eskew plan to get married on August 21. But that day, the girl was in a coma and on a ventilator in the hospital. Some time later, she took her last breath because her illness turned severe and could not be cured.
Before the death of her fiancée, Austin said she did not agree to receive the Covid-19 vaccine because she was afraid she would lose the ability to be a mother. Although this claim has no basis, Samantha still firmly refuses to be vaccinated. Unfortunately, after the bachelor party, Samantha began to have symptoms of cough, fever, headache and received a positive result for Sars-Cov-2.
On August 16, when her symptoms did not improve, she was taken to the hospital by Austin and had to be on a ventilator. In the end, Samantha had to say goodbye to her family and lover after her body could no longer adapt to the treatments. A happy wedding must eventually be replaced by a painful funeral. "Disinformation killed her," Maria Vibandor Hayes, Samantha's cousin, told reporters.
Also recently, a couple Davy Macias (37 years old) and Daniel Macias (39 years old) in the state of California, USA died just a few weeks apart also from COVID-19. The couple has five children aged 7, 5, 3 and 2 and a fifth child is just a few weeks old. Now, all 5 children live in the care of grandparents. It is known that Davy was originally a nurse but had not received the Covid-19 vaccine and hesitated to think about vaccination while pregnant despite being urged by health authorities many times.
Before the above cases, Marquis Davis, 28 years old in Florida (USA) also died from COVID-19, and this person was not vaccinated.
Relatives of Davis said he was hesitant about vaccination, and once told his wife that he would get vaccinated after being discharged from the hospital. In memory of Davis, his relatives turned the funeral into an event to promote vaccination and COVID-19 testing. Marquis' wife Charnese Davis said: "This outcome could have been prevented, so get vaccinated so this doesn't happen to you. At least you have a chance to fight, protect yourself. close friends and family. COVID-19 is no joke."
Braderick Wright, 28, from Georgia, was hesitant to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Unfortunately, Wright died of the disease in early August. Wright's wife, Brittany, said he "watched a lot of videos on TikTok about conspiracy theories related to vaccines and denied vaccinations". "I never thought I'd be a widow again at 25," said Brittany with tears in her eyes, adding that her husband's wish before he died was that "more and more people will be vaccinated."
Andres Perekalsk, a 43-year-old former professional soccer player, shared that when he was taken to a hospital in Texas with COVID-19, he thought he was going to die. "There are so many thoughts on my mind, my children, my family and why I'm not vaccinated." Perekalsk said he did not get the vaccine because he was "brainwashed" by misinformation. Perekalsk urged people to get vaccinated for "the sake of their children, their families and themselves".
Luckily than the above cases, Steve Witschel, an unvaccinated New Orleans resident, still managed to save his life after being discharged from the hospital. He recorded his change of opinion while undergoing active treatment.
Witschel said in a self-reported video in the hospital room: "If you haven't been vaccinated, get vaccinated now. I wish I had done it sooner. The past few weeks, my life has been like hell. I thought I might be dead I've never been so sick and I've never felt so hopeless, I've never had so little energy I had to do my best to brush my teeth Too bad. When I recover, hopefully I can recover, I will definitely get the vaccine. I will also wear a mask at all times."
After being discharged from the hospital, Witschel continued to shoot another video, in which, expressing "happiness to be alive" despite having to breathe oxygen for several weeks and a blood clot in the lung still took at least 6 months. just solved.
Curtis Cannon, a 75-year-old COVID-19 patient being treated at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, also falls into a similar case. He said he was initially skeptical about a vaccine, but when he struggled to breathe and suffered from severe chest pain, he realized COVID-19 "is real".
Cannon said he would tell skeptics that they "need to get vaccinated, because this is no joke". Cannon also said he will be vaccinated as soon as he is discharged from the hospital.
Travis Campbell, a patient being treated at Bristol Hospital, Tennessee, said he regrets not having been vaccinated before. Campbell shared: "I used to think that vaccination was not an urgent matter, and I was wrong. I would rather wear a mask and wear protective gear, get vaccinated than die within 7 days. I advise people you should go to the doctor and make the right decision to protect your family, otherwise face the worst consequences."
