Bien Hoa City Police (Dong Nai Province) has detained driver Do Minh Tan (born in 1996, residing in Ben Tre Province) in connection with the truck accident that killed someone on National Highway 51, Bien Hoa City. Last night, August 28, the police took the driver and the truck that caused the accident to reconstruct the scene.

Specifically, Colonel Nguyen Hong Phong, Director of Dong Nai Provincial Police, directed Colonel Tran Anh Son, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, to urgently go to the scene to direct professional units and Bien Hoa City Police to collect complete information, documents, evidence, investigate, and consolidate the behavior of seeing off a person of the driver in the traffic collision that occurred on National Highway 51.
As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong, at around 12 noon on August 28, a truck with license plate 71H-012... driven by driver Do Minh Tan was on National Highway 51. While passing through Huong Phuoc neighborhood, Phuoc Tan ward (Bien Hoa city), the truck turned right into a company and collided with a motorbike.
According to the camera, driver Tan stopped the car for a few seconds after hitting the victim but then continued to move past the victim's body. The incident caused Mr. THD (born in 1986, living in Binh Duong) to pass away on the spot, leaving behind immense pain for his two young children, elderly mother and wife.
On the morning of August 29, in the funeral home of Vinh Nghiem Pagoda on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), the incense smoke and sobs of Mr. D's family moved everyone present.
Standing next to the memorial tablet was To Hoang Duy (the victim's real brother). Duy tried to hold back his tears but then burst into tears when someone mentioned his younger brother. "At first, my younger brother heard that D. was in trouble so he ran over first. Then I received the news, at that moment my limbs felt like they were going to collapse, I quickly informed my mother. Both mother and son ran to the hospital, extremely panicked" - he said in tears.
According to the family, Mr. THD and his wife both worked to support their two children. Due to low income, Mr. D. decided to go for an interview to find opportunities elsewhere, but on the way back, he encountered an unfortunate incident.
The accident was recorded by a local's dashcam. The truck passed over Mr. D twice, causing anger and indignation to the family and the public. "Watching the clip, my family's pain multiplied. I just hope the law will intervene, clarify the incident and warn other drivers to ensure safety when participating in traffic," said the victim's brother.
In the funeral home, Mr. D's son was being taught by his mother how to read each line of the prayer. She told him through tears: "Read along with me, let's pray for dad..." The 11-year-old child hiccupped lightly, the pain of losing his father clearly visible in his teary eyes.
Mrs. Dinh Hanh (born in 1959, the victim's mother) kept repeating the phrase: "I lost my son". To her, Mr. D. was a gentle son who cared for his family. The incident caused the small family to be shaken because of the loss of a pillar. The loss of a loved one and the pain about the future of her children and grandchildren caused the old mother to suffer beyond words.
Ms. Hanh sighed and hoped that the matter would soon be clarified so that the evildoer would pay for his actions. "I don't know what to say, I just hope my son can rest in peace. I hope the authorities will soon investigate and clarify and the law will be strict with wrongdoings. For my family, this is a great loss that nothing can compensate for," she choked.
