Stroke was once considered a "disease of old age", now it is increasingly common among young people. This is the leading cause of death and disability in Vietnam. This dangerous disease is tending to rejuvenate due to many risk factors from lifestyle, causing anxiety to society.
The sudden death of Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh - the actress who made her mark with the role of Vy in the movie Cilantro - on the afternoon of September 1 because of a stroke made many viewers shocked and sad. The female artist is only 52 years old, still energetic and full of enthusiasm for art. This tragedy once again sounded the alarm bell: stroke does not only occur in the elderly but is becoming increasingly common, rejuvenating age and can take the life of anyone, whether celebrities or ordinary people. Ngoc Trinh's story has become a painful reminder for a whole generation living in the hustle and bustle of modern society.
In recent years, the number of strokes recorded at major hospitals has continuously increased frighteningly. If in the past, this disease mainly occurred in middle-aged and elderly people, now, many new patients in their 20s and 30s also suddenly collapse. Many cases are people with a modern, active lifestyle, even seemingly very healthy.
In fact, it is the unscientific lifestyle and living habits that are the main cause of this alarming "rejuvenation". Eating a lot of fried foods, grease, using alcohol, tobacco along with sedentary behavior causes the rate of obesity, diabetes and hypertension to increase rapidly. These are all "fertile ground" for stroke.
When the body is exhausted and danger lurks
Another alarming factor is work pressure, prolonged stress, and lack of sleep. The rush of urban life makes many young people overwork, abusing coffee and stimulants to maintain energy. As a result, the cardiovascular and nervous systems have to be overburdened, increasing the risk of cerebrovascular accidents. Physical and mental exhaustion has become a part of life, causing the body to gradually deteriorate without anyone realizing it.
In fact, metabolic underlying diseases are frighteningly rejuvenating. At many clinics, doctors have recorded patients at the age of 25-30 who have high blood fat, fatty liver, and even high blood pressure. However, due to the subjective psychology of "I am still young and strong", many people ignore periodic health checkups. When headaches and dizziness are just the first signs, they often look down on them. Only when a stroke occurs, patients and their families often do not have time to turn back, falling into an unexpected tragedy.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, stroke is currently the third leading cause of death in Vietnam, after cardiovascular and cancer. Worryingly, about 50% of patients who survive suffer from severe sequelae, becoming a burden on their families and society. This proves that stroke not only takes lives but also leaves heartbreaking and persistent consequences.
The Urgent Call: Change Your Life Before It's Too Late
To prevent stroke, each person needs to actively protect their health by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Eat scientifically, limit alcohol and fast food. Get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, get enough sleep, and manage stress effectively. In particular, it is necessary to have periodic health checks and understand the early signs of stroke for timely emergency treatment.
