The case of carrying a coffin to film an advertisement at Ben Thanh market is causing public opinion to be angry. The people involved have been officially arrested, more shockin.g than the confession at the authorities, coming from the mastermind.
According to information published in Dan Tri newspaper, on March 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency is consolidating the file to prosecute the accused Ho Ngoc Tuan (born 2000, from Long An), Nguyen Van Quyet (born 1995, living in District 12) and Vo Thi Thanh Xuan (born 1995, Quyet's wif.e), Nguyen Dang Khoa (born 2000, living in Long An province) and 5 other people for the crime of disturbing public order.
According to the police, this is a group of people involved in the case of carrying coffins in front of the Ben Thanh market area, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Working with the investigating agency, Tuan declared to sell clothes online on TikTok. However, because he did not have capital, the suspect went to work for hire to make mone.y. After getting to know Quyet and his wif.e, the 3 discussed and came up with business ideas.
Quyet and his wif.e agreed to support Tuan to start an online business, investing capital to invest. As for Tuan, he came up with ideas, designed, advertised and sold products, the profit will be divided 50/50.
Tuan admitted to filming many clips with different ideas posted on TikTok, but the views were not as high as expected. Therefore, the suspect had the intention to record a clip with the content of 4 people in black carrying coffins in a street parade to create a shockin.g event and increase views.
Regarding this idea, Tuan said that he consulted from many sources abroad, then changed it to make it new. After that, Tuan made an appointment for Quyet and Nguyen Dang Khoa (Tuan's frien.d) to meet to discuss, but they all agreed.
Tuan's group contacted the coffin camp in Long Trach commune, Can Duoc district, Long An province, met Nguyen Van Tham and bought a coffin for 3.5 million VND. After that, Tuan hired Tham to repaint the black coffin and hired Tham along with 4 other people to carry the coffin for Tuan to film the clip for 500,000 VND/person.
Around the end of January, Tuan contacted a shop in Tan Phu district to make decal paper according to Tuan's design. After getting the decal paper, Tuan, Khoa, Quyet and Xuan went down to the box camp. Here, Shen glued the decal to the sides of the box. After finishing the work, this group asked Tham to keep the box, when filming the advertisement, they would contact to transport it to Ho Chi Minh City.
After that, Khoa contacted the studio on Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street in Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, rented and filmed for 4 hours for 1.3 million VND. Tuan also hired another photographer for 1 million VND, in addition, this group also hired 2 photo models (1 male, 1 female).
On the morning of February 25, the group transported the ark from Long An by dragon car (a funeral car) to the studio in Ben Thanh ward. After that, this group carried the coffin to take pictures in the studio, in the afternoon, carried it to the street, walked on Huyen Tran Princess Street to continue shootin.g.
Thinking that filming the clip in the studio was over, Tham and the group of workers carried the box to the car to drive it back. However, due to feeling dissatisfied, Tuan decided and agreed with Quyet and his wif.e to bring the coffin to Ben Thanh market to continue filming.
Tuan called Tham to drive the box back and pay more wages. This is a landmark decision, making many people involved in the law. After the truck arrived at Ben Thanh market, Tuan gave the black shirt to Tham and 3 other people to wear and walk down Le Lai street to the intersection of Phan Chu Trinh. After filming, Shen put the coffin in the car and drove it to Long An.
Particularly, Tuan went home to synthesize related clips and photos and then cut and collage them to form a complete clip. By noon on March 1, Tuan posted the clip online, attracting more than 9,000 likes, nearly 1,000 comments and more than 4,000 shares.
"When I do this, I just want to be noticed by many people to sell clothes. I didn't expect the incident to happen so big. I feel that my actions are wrong and regret it very much," Tuan said, adding that the total amount of mone.y to make this advertising clip is more than 20 million VND.
Talking about the reason for the urgent arrest of Tuan and 8 other people, the Ho Chi Minh City Police said that the fact that the suspects carrying coffins paraded on the street in front of Ben Thanh market was crowded, adversely affecting security and social order.
