Talking to reporters, the boy's relatives said that up to now, after 3 days, the family still has no information about their son and is coordinating with the authorities to search. At noon on August 20, answering reporters, the leader of the People's Committee of Van Yen district, Yen Bai province said that after 3 days of searching with the participation of hundreds of people, the authorities still have not found the boy D.VL (6 years old) who got lost in the forest.
According to the district leader, local authorities and residents drained a nearly 80 square meter pond next to the area where the child went missing to search.
"The authorities of Van Yen district have mobilized more than 150 people including militia, military, police, fire prevention and fighting forces, family and local people to join the search for the boy. In addition to searching in deep holes, caves, streams, the authorities also drained a pond near the area where L. went missing to search but still had no results," this person informed.
According to family members, on August 17, the boy went to his uncle's house to celebrate the full moon festival. When he was leaving with some friends, he stopped to pick fruit about 50 meters from the house. However, L. then mysteriously disappeared. L.'s mother added that the road from his relative's house to where he ate the festival was only a few hundred meters away from L.'s family.
As of this morning, the locality is still mobilizing more than 100 people including police, army, militia and people from villages in the area, divided into many teams and groups to search for the child lost in the deep forest.
Previously, information was shared on social media with pictures of many people participating in the search for a 6-year-old boy missing in the forest. The incident occurred in Lam Giang commune, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province. On the afternoon of August 19, the leader of the People's Committee of Van Yen district, Yen Bai, confirmed that the authorities were mobilizing more than 100 people, divided into many groups, to search for the boy D.VL (6 years old, in Lam Giang commune) who got lost in the deep forest.
The leader of Van Yen district said that the government has come up with many plans, dividing into many places such as streams, hills and searching through cameras along provincial road 164 to search for child L. The authorities have drained a pond to search for the child but have not found any trace.
Previously, a similar incident occurred in Lao Cai, two missing boys, one of whom was of the Mong ethnic group, "disappeared" for 3 days, but were fortunately found by authorities in the attic of the 3rd floor of Lao Chai Primary School (Hoang Lien Commune). According to this person, from around 10:00 a.m. on June 29, the two boys Ly A P. (10 years old) and Ly A S. (7 years old, both Mong ethnic, residing in Lao Hang Chai village) went out to play.
In the afternoon, the family did not see the two children return home, so they searched from afternoon until evening but could not find them.
The next morning, the family reported to the commune authorities for assistance in the search. Through verification from the rescue force, a 7-year-old child saw P. and S. go fishing in the stream. Suspecting that the two children had been swept away by the water, the local authorities mobilized forces and the two children's families to organize a search, but by last night there was still no trace of them.
At around 6am this morning (July 2), the security guard at Lao Chai Primary School went to check the classrooms and heard a cry for help coming from the attic of the 3rd floor of the classroom area. When checking, he found two children trapped up there.
"After the two children climbed onto the roof, the latch on the outside door collapsed, leaving them trapped," said the leader of the Hoang Lien Commune People's Committee, adding that because it was summer vacation and there were few people around the school, even though they called for help, no one discovered the incident.
Fortunately, the weather in the area has been cool and rainy in recent days, and the children are safe after 3 days without food thanks to the water tank in the area where they were trapped. According to the leader of the People's Committee of Hoang Lien commune, immediately after finding the two lost children, medical staff came to check their health and support the family with initial care to stabilize their psychology. Currently, the health of the two children is basically stable.
