The movie 'Fightin.g in the Sky' by Thai Hoa - Kaity Nguyen released the first look video, including some thrilling and fast-paced attac.k scenes. This is a project jointly produced by People's Police Cinema and Galaxy Group.
The first look video of Deathmatch in the Air received many compliments for being concise and dramatic. Thai Hoa plays the leader, commanding the group of hijackers who attac.k the plane and threate.n the crew. The character has complex psychological developments. The actors appearing in the video also include Kaity Nguyen, Thanh Son, Vo Dien Gia Huy, Ma Ran Do, Loi Tran, Tram Anh, Xuan Van, Bao Dinh, Ray Nguyen.
Deathmatch in the Air takes place almost entirely on a plane. The moment the warning lights turn on and the announcement sounds, it becomes the signal that begins a series of breathtaking events as the hijackers begin their attac.k.
Throughout the first 30 seconds of the film's introduction, the main color tone is ho.t, interwoven with cold colors and thrilling action scenes. The tension comes not only from the breathtaking action situations, but also smolders in every expression and look of the passengers on the flight. Each character seems to carry a secret. From the pensive eyes, the bewildered expression, the hidden weapo.n in the sleeve, to the meaningful handshake between the two passengers - all are like pieces of a puzzle suggesting a hijacking plot that is gradually taking shape, thereby increasing the suspenseful atmosphere...
Deathmatch in the air is an action-drama film, inspired by a real-life plane hijacking in Vietnam after 1975. People's Police Cinema directs the production of the film and is a guarantee for the authenticity of historical materials and aviation security documents, contributing to the vivid and convincing re-creation of the story.
This is not only a dramatic story, but also an opportunity for the audience to learn about a true but little-known incident nearly half a century ago - when the Vietnamese aviation industry had to confront sophisticated hijacking plots, which led to a heroic deat.h battle in the sky.
In the film, the audience was impressed by the eyes of the two actors: one was fierce, the other was full of fear, helping the first poster to convey the tense atmosphere that was true to the hijacking theme. At the same time, many viewers praised Thai Hoa's ability to transform into diverse characters when in the previous film, Tunnel, he played the role of a guerrilla captain who was devoted to the country and his brothers; in the next film, he played a villain.
Recently, Thai Hoa has continuously participated in many projects. In early April, he played the role of Bay Theo - the leader of a guerrilla group in Cu Chi - in the film The Tunnels by director Bui Thac Chuyen. Thai Hoa's performance was one of the highlights, contributing to the film's revenue of more than 170 billion VND. In early May, he voiced the character of actor Ma Dong-seok in the Korean horror film Holy Night: Demon Hunters.
Thai Hoa said that after more than 30 years of acting, he feels lucky because his passion for the profession has not diminished. When choosing a script, the actor does not distinguish between mainstream, artistic or commercial films, because he loves the feeling of living with the character. "Some directors say it is lucky to have Thai Hoa in the project, but I do not feel that way. I am happy that many filmmakers have sought me out," he said.
Thai Hoa was born in Ho Chi Minh City and started his career in the 1990s. In the 2000s, he was successful on the comedy stage, such as the Gala Cuoi 2003 program. He made an impression with many films such as De Mai Tinh, Long Ruoi, Cuoi Ngay Ke Lo, Tiec Trang Mau. In 2023, he won two titles for Best Actor in Film (Con Nhót Môt Chong) and Television (Mother Rom) at the Canh Dieu Awards, and won the Best Actor trophy at the Vietnam Film Festival. In addition to acting, he is a screenwriter and author of two hit projects - Nguoi Vo Ma and Qua Tim Mau.
Kaity Nguyen was born in Ho Chi Minh City and grew up in the US. In 2017, Em chua 18 - her debut film with Kieu Minh Tuan - became the highest-grossing Vietnamese film at that time with 171 billion VND. In 2019, she starred in the film Hon Papa, da con gai with Thai Hoa. In 2020, the film she starred in - Tiec trang mau - earned 175 billion VND, entering the top 5 highest-grossing Vietnamese films at that time. In 2023, she starred in Nguoi vo cuoi cuoi, a historical film directed by Victor Vu.
