Tong Tong and Plaifah Nutchaporn came to Vietnam to sing "New Year's Day in My Hometown", wearing lovely conical hats.

The actors of the movie Childhood Friends (Thailand) Tong Tong Kitsakorn and Plaifah Nutchaporn recently had a media exchange in Ho Chi Minh City before attending the Green Star Awards ceremony.

The two actors impressed with their outstanding appearance and friendliness and charm. Actress Plaifah Nutchaporn said she came to Ho Chi Minh City a few days ago and had many happy memories while exploring the local cuisine and culture.

"Vietnamese people and cuisine are wonderful. Of all the dishes I've tried, my favorite is pho," Plaifah Nutchaporn shared.

Thai screen god Tong Tong Kitsakorn also said he was excited when he first came to Vietnam, impressed by the culture of drinking coffee on the sidewalk in Ho Chi Minh City.

"When I walked around the streets, I saw people sitting on small plastic chairs drinking coffee on the sidewalk. I researched online and learned that this is a unique cultural feature in Vietnam. This way of sitting and drinking coffee helps people get closer to each other and share more stories," Tong Tong said.

Tong Kitsakorn and Plaifah Nutchaporn also shared the honor of being nominated at the Blue Star Awards (held on the evening of January 11).

"As an actor, I try to do my best to play my role. I'm happy that the film is loved by everyone, whether it wins an award or not is not important," Tong Tong said.

At the event, Plaifah Nutchaporn and Tong Tong performed a piece of Thai folk dance drama Yikae. Notably, the duo also received cheers when they sent New Year greetings in Vietnamese and sang a piece of the song "My hometown's Tet holiday".

This year, Plaifah Nutchaporn and Tong Tong Kitsakorn said they will continue to work hard on new films. The two actors hope to have the opportunity to return to Vietnam to travel or participate in Vietnamese projects.

Regarding the Green Star Award, this year, the award starts for the 11th time with many changes. The Green Star returns with 4 award categories, besides cinema and television, it also expands the playing field for films broadcast on the internet.

In particular, 4 new awards were opened: "Best Supporting Actor/Actress" (TV category), "Best Music Video" and "Most Favorite Couple", officially bringing the total number of trophies to 31, honoring more deserving individuals and groups.

Specifically, the Cinema category (10 awards), Television category (13 awards), Cyberspace category (06 awards) and other categories (1 award). This not only opens up opportunities for many products and artists to be honored but also can realize the diversity and continuous development of the country's cinema industry.

Accordingly, the composition of the Art Council of the "Green Star 2024" award has also changed, appointing 3 more names to the jury. These are 2 talented and experienced directors: Meritorious Artist - Director of Photography Nguyen K'Linh and Director Kien Ung, contributing to providing selective professional perspectives, more multi-dimensional assessments of filming/editing techniques, special effects, effects, images,... of the nominees alongside the veteran permanent jury.

Journalist Hoang Tuan - Acting Editor-in-Chief of The World of Cinema Magazine - plays the role of Head of the preliminary judging panel and is also a new piece in the Art Council of this year's award.

Voting for the most popular nominees opens from 11am on December 11, 2024 to 11am on January 7, 2025.
