Tangmo Nida case finds new evidence, case reopened, close friend reveals shocking news

Thai media reported that more than two years after the mysterious death of Tangmo Nida (actress of The Fallen Leaf) on the Chao Phraya River, the case suddenly attracted attention again when new evidence emerged.

Specifically, according to Khaosod, on December 19, 2024, at the Department of Special Investigation, Mr. Atchariya Ruangrattanaphong (Chairman of the Victim Support Club) sent a letter to Colonel Pol. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice and Colonel Pol. Yutthana Praedam, Director General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), to request a review of the complaint about the investigation into the truth behind Tangmo Nida's departure.

Colonel Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, said "that the Tangmo case could be reopened if new evidence and circumstances arise."

As a close friend of Tangmo, actress Mo Amena shared this story with the media.

Mo Amena affirmed: "Whether to reopen the case or not is a decision of the law. What I expected most in two years is clearly justice, whatever the outcome.

Every month, I visit Tangmo at church, whether it is Christmas, Valentine's Day or other occasions. I just hope that everything will be resolved in a fair way.

In the face of controversy on social media, Mo Amena called on people to trust in the law and let Tangmo rest in peace: "Justice will come, sooner or later. The best thing right now is waiting for the truth."

Tangmo Nida fell into the water and went missing in late February 2022 during a midnight river cruise with a group of friends.

She was found two days after she went missing. After nearly two months of investigation and two autopsies, police concluded that she died of drowning.

They determined that this was a routine incident and ruled out the possibility of her being harmed. Five friends who were on the yacht with Tangmo Nida were charged with crimes such as involuntary manslaughter, falsifying statements, destroying evidence, operating a boat without a license, etc.
