Earlier, on August 18, Paollo's mother held a memorial service for him in his hometown. Tammy, the player's girlfriend, has also left Vietnam for Portugal since August 15. Tammy was also able to fly directly to Portugal with her late boyfriend, but due to paperwork problems, she could only return to her home country first to wait - receive the player's t.hi.

On the afternoon of August 12, a continuous accident occurred on National Highway 14 - the section through Ia Hrú commune, Chu Puh district, Gia Lai. The car carrying 4 members of HAGL football club crashed - sandwiched between the heads of 2 trucks. The accident killed 3 members of HAGL th* club including: assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh, doctor Tri Dao and foreign soldier Paollo Oliveira.

This information made football fans in particular and Vietnamese people in general bewildered and lamented. In it, striker Paollo Oliveira is believed to have died while on his way to Pleiku to meet his wife. Both he and his wife are also preparing their bags to return to their hometown – Brazil to visit family – after the season playing for Hoàng Anh Gia Lai.

" Paollo's family is in Pleiku City waiting for him to return after the SLNA match. They can return to Brazil or take a vacation. But it didn't happen ," a choked HAGL club member told VTC News.

This information seems to be "fueling the fire" for the pain - huge loss of HAGL club, fans and especially for the wife, and the player's family. It seemed that they were about to be reunited when an unfortunate incident struck - causing everything to completely fall apart.

It is known that before being brought back to the motherland, striker Paollo's t.hi t.h. was kept at Hoang Anh Gia Lai Medical University Hospital in Pleiku. According to the wishes of the family, Paollo's mother authorized the HAGL club to carry out procedures to bring his t.hi to Portugal for burial.

She was saddened by the sudden passing of her son in a foreign land — " My tears have dried up. Her heart was broken. Son, give me the strength to keep going," Paollo's mother choked up.

Sharing with the press, on 13/8 - Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh, CEO of HAGL Club said: " In the case of Paollo Madeira Oliveira, because we are foreigners, we have to do other procedures. We are looking for the best funeral service to bring Paollo Madeira Oliveira's daughter back to Ho Chi Minh City. HCM, then brought back to Portugal with a dedicated box.

Today is a Sunday, so the relevant procedures will have to wait until next Monday to proceed. We have been in contact with the relevant authorities on the Vietnamese side and it has all been very favorable.

The Portuguese Embassy in Vietnam is also willing and enthusiastic to support the relevant procedures for Paollo Madeira Oliveira's mother to come to Vietnam soon as well as the return of him to Vietnam according to his family's wishes."

Nguyen Tan Anh also revealed that Bau Duc has instructed to focus on taking good care of Paollo Madeira Oliveira's posterity. All expenses related to the funeral as well as the return of players born in 1996 are paid by HAGL Group and HAGL Club.

Striker Paollo Oliveira - not too strange to those who regularly follow the V.League. In the 2022 season, this Portuguese striker has appeared in 23 matches in Vietnam's No. 1 league and scored 8 goals - an important contribution to Hong Linh Ha Tinh's relegation.

Before coming to the V.League arena, Paollo Oliveira played for 2 clubs, Farense and Estrela in Portugal. At Farense, he made 5 appearances on the grass of the Portuguese 2nd division and has not scored a goal. Before that, he scored 6 goals in 25 appearances for Estrela in the Portuguese 3rd division.

On the afternoon of August 12, his former team Sporting Clube Farense offered their condolences.
