Tee Yod: Ghost Eater 2 bombs Vietnamese box office, everyone is kicked out, no competition

Last week, there was a movie release on October 11, with many notable names such as Wild Robot, Domino: The Last Exit, Fubao: Grandpa's Treasure, First Demon, Second Ghost, Third Takagi: Tease Then Love, Tee yod: Ghost Eater 2 (early screening).

According to data from The Box Office Vietnam, Tee yod: Ghost Eater 2 is causing a fever when it leads the box office this past weekend with an opening revenue of more than 36 billion VND after more than 3 days of early screenings. Following closely behind the Thai horror film is Wild Robot, a DreamWorks production that earned 10.4 billion VND after 3 days of release (including early screenings).

Third place is Do anh cong duoc toi, earning 25 billion VND after 17 days of showing. Domino: The Last Escape had a dismal revenue, only pocketing 347 million VND. Last weekend, Tee yod: Quy an tang 2 had 10,154 screenings, selling 323,481 tickets, overwhelming other competitors at the box office. Previously, according to information from the producer, Tee yod: Quy an tang 2 set a record as the Thai film with the highest number of pre-ordered tickets of all time in Vietnam, with 30,000 tickets.

The film revolves around the story of a Thai farming family in the northeast in the 70s of the 20th century. The family consists of a couple and 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. They are the eldest brother Yak (Nadech Kugimiya), the second brother Yod (Peerakrit Phacharaboonyakiat), the eldest sister Yad (Jelilcha Kapaun), the second sister Yam (Rattawadee Wongthong), the second brother Yos (Kajbhunditt Jaidee) and the youngest sister Yee (Nutthatcha Padovan). In the 111-minute part 2, the film continues to tell the story of the Yak family's journey to fight the devil when the devil reappears.

Three years after Yam's departure, Yak continues to hunt for the mysterious spirit in the black cloak. Meeting a girl with similar symptoms to Yam, Yak discovers the spirit's guardian, the reclusive shaman Puang, living in the dangerous forest.

Amidst the demonic magic and dangerous creatures. While chasing the black-cloaked spirit, Tee Yod's haunting scream reappears. Despite being shown just a few days early, Tee Yod: Organ-Eating Demon 2 has earned more than 36 billion VND. If it maintains this form, the film will soon surpass the 54 billion VND achievement of part 1.

The distributor of the popular Thai horror film said that with positive revenue results, the actors: Nadech Kugimiya (as Yak), Denise Jelilcha Kapaun (as Yad), Nutthacha Jessica Padovan (as Yee) and some members of the film crew came to Ho Chi Minh City to meet on October 19. Accordingly, Nadech Kugimiya quickly filmed a short video clip to greet Vietnamese audiences. This actor sent his thanks to Vietnamese audiences for loving and supporting the film.

Nadech Kugimiya has become "familiar" to Vietnamese audiences through famous TV series such as: "Love Farm", "Love Game", "Love Swap"... when co-starring with the beautiful Yaya Urassaya.
