On the morning of March 21, social media captured images of a male sleeper bus driver playing a game while driving. This scene made many passengers shudder and not dare to sleep for even a second.
Recently, a 2-minute, 52-second clip appeared on social media, recording the scene of a bus driver traveling from Hanoi to Ha Tinh, driving while playing games on his phone. The clip was posted by a passenger with the status line: "The journey home is nearly 400km, there is no moment when I am not afraid. If I get off in the middle of the road, I cannot catch a bus home."
In the clip, the driver continuously uses his mobile phone to play games, sometimes even using both hands to operate, completely ignoring driving. This behavior makes the passengers on the car extremely worried and insecure, because they feel that their safety is not guaranteed.
Immediately after the clip was posted on social media, it caused a stir in the online community and people expressed outrage, saying that the male driver disregarded the safety of passengers.
According to the investigation, the above passenger bus has license plate 38B - 012.xx, owned by a bus company in Huong Son district, Ha Tinh. This bus company specializes in transporting long-distance passengers on the route from Hanoi to Ha Tinh and vice versa.
The male driver who was playing a game while driving was named PAÄ. (residing in Son Tay commune, Huong Son district). After discovering the incident, the bus company temporarily suspended the male driver from driving.
Immediately after the clip was posted, it spread at a dizzying speed on social media platforms. Public opinion expressed outrage and strongly condemned the driver's irresponsible behavior and disregard for passenger safety. Many people believe that this is a serious violation of road traffic laws and needs to be strictly handled as a deterrent.
In response to public outrage, Thai Hoc bus company quickly confirmed that the driver in the clip was an employee of the company. At the same time, the company also decided to suspend this driver from work. The bus company representative said they were very sorry for the incident and sent their sincere apologies to the passengers and the entire community.
On the part of the authorities, the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police summoned the driver to work and drew up a record of administrative violations. On the afternoon of March 20, the driver presented himself at the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police. A representative of the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Province Police also said that the unit is investigating and clarifying the incident.
Through initial investigation, the driver of the vehicle was Phan Anh D. (born in 1990, residing in Ha Tinh). In his statement to the police, driver D. said that at 3:00 p.m. on March 17, while driving to Nghe An province, he used his phone to play video games to relieve stress.
The Traffic Police checked the documents related to the person and vehicle: Driver Phan Anh D. had a class E driver's license. At the same time, he presented the vehicle registration and expired vehicle inspection certificate 38B-012.14 (valid until March 10, 2025).
The working group took minutes of the work, took statements from the driver and the vehicle owner. At the same time, handed over to the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province for handling according to regulations.
According to Vietnamese law, using a mobile phone while driving is a violation of road traffic laws and can result in administrative penalties and driver's license revocation for 1 to 3 months.
This incident once again raises the alarm about traffic safety due to the use of mobile phones while driving. This is a serious problem, causing many serious traffic accidents in recent times.
Traffic experts warn that using a mobile phone while driving, whether for calling, texting or playing games, reduces the driver's ability to concentrate and increases the risk of an acciden.t.
The incident of Thai Hoc bus driver playing games while driving is a valuable lesson for transport companies and drivers. Companies need to strengthen management and supervision of driversâ activities, and organize training courses on traffic safety.
