It is known that the girl in the video is Phan Thi Thanh Nga (born in 1992, from Lam Dong, currently living in Ho Chi Minh City). Nga said that this video was taken from her nail salon camera on the evening of January 13. Because she had only rented this location for 1 month, she had no experience using this rolling door. Because she lived and worked alone, she had a habit of not pressing the rolling door all the way up but leaving it halfway up, to create a sense of security.

That night, after finishing work, Thanh Nga held the remote control for the rolling door in her hand and led it to her car. Because the shop was narrow, she could not turn the car around and had to back it out. However, when she reached the door, she accidentally pressed the remote control, causing the door to lower, trapping both her and her car. At that moment, Nga panicked and kept pressing the remote control to make the door go up, but because her vision was blocked, she pressed the wrong button.

A similar incident also occurred on April 2, 2023 in Ha Long city (Quang Ninh). Accordingly, an 11-year-old boy was crushed by a rolling door on his chest, causing him to be trapped and later died. The family said that the door's anti-obstacle sensor system was broken and the family had not repaired it, leading to this heartbreaking incident.

Another tragic incident involving rolling doors occurred on the morning of July 19, 2023, in Hoai Duc district (Hanoi). Accordingly, a serious fire broke out at an electric bicycle business combined with a house. According to witnesses, when the fire was discovered, people shouted, mobilized fire extinguishers to put out the fire, and even used a forklift to break the rolling door to rescue people trapped inside. However, because the rolling door was designed very firmly, people could not successfully break it.

When approaching the scene, the fire department also had to use specialized equipment to break this rolling door. The fire killed 3 people and burned many valuable properties.
