Public opinion was shocked by the news that a high school graduate with no medical expertise brazenly wore a lab coat and performed gynecological examinations on thousands of people at the Helia Clinic. The incident exposed a sophisticated scam that seriously threatened public health.
From consultant to "chief physician" after reading just a few books.
In the Vietnam Today program broadcast on the afternoon of March 27th, the central figure, Ngoc Anh, made statements that sent chills down everyone's spine. Having only completed 12th grade and being hired as a consultant at the Helia clinic (Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi), after a short period of online "learning by observation" and watching doctors treat patients, she confidently took on the role of primary examiner. Ngoc Anh nonchalantly admitted that she could self-diagnose complex conditions such as cervicitis, cysts, or fungal infections simply by... reading books and searching the internet.
Ngoc Anh's recklessness was not unique to this facility. According to the investigation, the Helia clinic operated a large-scale fraudulent system with 9 fake doctors and dozens of support staff. These individuals took turns donning the prestigious white coats to fabricate illnesses, turning mild cases into critical ones, with the ultimate goal of illicit profit. Even more frightening, in just two months of operation, this fake medical "group" raked in a staggering 60 billion VND at the expense of patients' blood, sweat, and fear.
Technology "exaggerates" medical conditions and the exorbitant costs involved.
The scam at 11 Hang Chuoi Street was meticulously orchestrated. Initially, the establishment used extensive social media advertising campaigns promising "quick and complete cures" at extremely low costs to attract victims. However, as soon as customers entered the clinic, the trap was activated. The "fake doctors" would deliberately provide inaccurate test results and exaggerate the patient's condition, causing them extreme anxiety.
Exploiting women's fears about reproductive health, these individuals began to concoct service packages with exorbitant prices. Many victims, overwhelmed with anxiety, paid tens, even hundreds of millions of dong for ineffective treatments, some of which posed serious health risks. The tactic of using employees posing as experts to profit has turned medical facilities into "money-making machines," causing significant economic and emotional harm to the people of Hanoi.
The decision to prosecute and a wake-up call regarding the management of private healthcare.
Following intelligence gathering and a joint surprise inspection between the Internal Political Security Department (Hanoi City Police) and the Department of Health, serious violations at Helia International Co., Ltd. were brought to light. On March 27, the Security Investigation Agency officially issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings, indicting and detaining four individuals directly involved in fraudulent activities at this clinic. This is considered a decisive move by authorities to clean up the healthcare environment.
The Helia Clinic case is not just a simple financial fraud case, but also a serious insult to medical ethics. The fact that a girl who only completed high school could claim to be a gynecologist reveals the laxness in personnel control and operations at some private medical facilities today. The case is still under expanded investigation to clarify the roles of those involved and ensure the strict enforcement of the law.
Huong Ga: The movie is lucky in life, why is the main one arrested, the stunt is beaten, is there a bad omen?
An Nhiên07:48:12 03/11/2025The Vietnamese entertainment world was shocked by an unbelievable coincidence: two female artists with the same name Ngoc Anh, who appeared in the movie Huong Ga (2014), simultaneously encountered major and negative events in their personal lives on the same day.
