A particularly serious case occurred in Quang Tri on the evening of March 26th, shocking public opinion when a man, due to a romantic conflict, returned from Da Nang to his wife's hometown and committed a series of unforgivable acts.
According to initial information, at approximately 10 PM on March 26th, in Tan Binh village, Kim Dien commune (Quang Tri province), Nguyen Ngoc Dao (35 years old, residing in Dang Hoa village, Kim Dien commune) hired a taxi from Da Nang city to his hometown to resolve a conflict with his wife, PTDH (26 years old). However, en route, upon reaching Kim Phu commune, Dao had a dispute with the taxi driver, BTS. In a fit of anger, he murdered the driver. After committing the crime, Dao dragged the victim into a nearby mangrove forest to conceal him, then continued driving the taxi to his wife's parents' house.
At his wife's home, the conflict escalated to an irreconcilable level. According to authorities, during the altercation, Nguyen Ngoc Dao used a homemade gun he was carrying to fire multiple shots. As a result, his mother-in-law, Mrs. D.T.T., died on the spot. His father-in-law, Mr. PH, was hit by bullets and seriously injured; he has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
After committing the crime, Dao did not leave the scene but barricaded himself in his car. Notably, during this time, he even livestreamed on Facebook, apologizing to his children and parents. This action shocked many viewers, who witnessed the unstable mental state of the man after a series of unforgivable acts.
Before the incident occurred, a video allegedly recorded by Nguyen Ngoc Dao himself circulated on social media. The clip showed the man catching his wife having an affair with a foreigner in their rented room in Da Nang City. The video quickly attracted attention, sparking much debate about the couple's family conflicts.
Later, Dao repeatedly livestreamed about his married life. In these live streams, he stated that he was trying to preserve his family for the sake of his children and hoped that he and his wife would respect each other to continue living together. However, these shared experiences did not help resolve the conflict; instead, they seemed to exacerbate the situation.
By the evening of March 26th, things had spiraled out of control when Nguyen Ngoc Dao brought a homemade gun from Da Nang back to his wife's hometown, leading to a series of serious tragedies. His impulsive act, fueled by anger, resulted in the deaths of two innocent people, serious injuries to one, and widespread panic in the community.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the Quang Tri Provincial Police quickly arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area to conduct an investigation. Professional units are urgently collecting evidence and taking statements from relevant witnesses to clarify the entire sequence of events. At the same time, authorities are also conducting a scene investigation and autopsy to aid in the investigation.
Currently, the Quang Tri Provincial Police Investigation Agency is finalizing the case file to prosecute Nguyen Ngoc Dao for related offenses. This incident once again raises a warning about the serious consequences of family conflicts not resolved through dialogue, and also highlights the danger of using homemade weapons in conflict situations.
