Once "stormed" with the 3A Trio in the 90s

Ngoc Anh 3A, whose full name is Hoang Ngoc Anh, was born in 1975 in Hanoi to a father who is an artist. At the age of 3 or 4, she began to show musical talent, encouraged by her parents to pursue art.

At the age of 20, Ngoc Anh became a member of Trio 3A (along with Minh Anh and Minh Anh). Performing many genres, from Pop Ballad to Rock, contemporary folk, Trio 3A became one of the "storming" groups in Vietnam in the late 90s. The group won the Gold Medal at the Hanoi-ASEAN Festival in 1996 with Phu Quang's song "The Night of the Peach", attending the 14th Festival held in Cuba in 1997.

In 2003, Trio 3A disbanded, Ngoc Anh decided to separate solo and Nam Tien. However, because she could not adapt to this market, the singer later returned to Hanoi. 5 years later, together with her husband - musician Tran Hung (son of People's Representative Tuong Vy), Ngoc Anh announced to settle in the US.

The life of many ups and downs of Ngoc Anh 3A

In the US, Ngoc Anh's career gradually developed. She made a strong impression on the audience through Phu Quang's love songs such as "Winter Nostalgia"; "It's simple," but her 19-year marriage with Chen Hung fell apart. Talking about the reason for the separation, Ngoc Anh once shared: "We did not divorce because of rice and money. At the most difficult time financially, we did not argue or berate each other. I was sad but didn't blame or tell anything. I don't want my son to grow up and read about his parents' bad stories."

The ups and downs in her private life made Ngoc Anh fall into a state of uncertainty. She revealed: "There was a period when I saw everything crying, my heart couldn't breathe when I returned to Hanoi. It took me a few years like that, and lately, I've regained my balance."

In 2018, Ngoc Anh remarried businessman John Gallander – who is 12 years older than her and already has a 28-year-old stepson. For Ngoc Anh, "John was the first 'float' I picked up, when the romance was at an impasse." He always cared for, encouraged and became a peaceful support for her in America.

Although the marriage was happy, Ngoc Anh also experienced moments of anxiety and insecurity. It was a time when the couple in turn had to fight illness. In 2019, John Gallander suffered a stroke and it took 6 months of treatment to recover. In July 2021, Ngoc Anh had to undergo surgery to remove a tumor in her uterus. Both stay by each other's sides during difficult times, doing everything for the other to recover quickly.

Currently, Ngoc Anh and her husband live in a coastal villa in California. In the garden, Ngoc Anh grows a variety of typical flowers of Vietnam. She also often spends time jogging, exercising, enjoying the open space around her area.

After many ups and downs, Ngoc Anh 3A is living a peaceful and fulfilling life. She insists she is still in good contact with her ex-mother-in-law, Tuong Vy, while her ex-husband is friends with her current husband. Whenever he returns home, the singer often visits his mother-in-law or instructs his son to call to check on his grandmother.

Fever in The Masked Singer

Recently, the top 6 Masked Singers season two competed through a single, head-to-head performance. The Lo Hair Dog character had to take off his mask due to receiving the lowest vote. When Ngoc Anh appeared on stage, the mentors and audience cheered.

At the unveiling performance, she chose to perform her self-composed song nearly 23 years ago – Let's Love While We're Together. Ngoc Anh also celebrated through songs marked by one time including Wishing for old memories (Xuan Phuong), Just a dream (Kim Ngoc), Simple thing, Winter nostalgia (Phu Quang).

She said she did not regret stopping, happy to feel the love of the audience. Earlier, the singer repeatedly declined the invitation of the organizers, hesitating about reappearance. For the past 20 years, she has not participated in domestic TV shows because she wants to focus on raising her family and settling abroad. However, Ngoc Anh was later convinced, saying that he needed to return for the audience, realizing that his desire to contribute to art was still great.

Over the past three months, the singer has attracted attention with many performances such as Love Like the Last Love Day (Tang Nhat Tue), Rain Sister (Mr.Siro), mashup Pain reigns - As still here (Luong Bang Quang - Phuc Truong). The singer said: "I'm satisfied, happy, feeling as young as I did in Trio 3A. The songs I performed at the show had never heard before. I realize that young people now compose too well. She remembers that in the 2000s, she herself struggled and struggled on her solo journey. Thanks to a fan, she had the opportunity to come to Phu Quang music. According to the singer, everything was as fate, bringing her voice closer to the audience, making a career so far.

Ngoc Anh said that she is having a lot of energy, finding inspiration to work again. When her family life settles down, she wants to return to fulfill her unfinished dreams and projects. In October, she performed the live concert "Autumn Hiding Em" in Hanoi. On October 14, she reunited with Trio 3A including Minh Anh and Minh Anh after 23 years at a music night.

Singer Toc Tien, Thuy Chi said she was conquered by the sobbing in Ngoc Anh's voice. They believe that even if they are absent for a long time, when they return, Ngoc Anh will still be well received by the audience.
