People's Artist Thu Ha: A chil.d of a traditional opera family, full of passion for the profession despite the years

Artist Thu Ha was born in a family with a tradition of singing boi, it is no exaggeration to say that her family lives on singing. It seems that singing it is deeply ingrained in the subconscious so that when you are old, the fire of the profession will remain forever.

Born in a family with a tradition of singing boi, since childhood, each class of lang, lyrics, dances, and gestures of the tuong stage have permeated the soul of People's Artist (People's Artist) Thu Ha. Since then, with her burning passion for the traditional theater of the nation, she has made efforts to overcome difficulties to devote herself to the art of tuong.

Since childhood, People's Artist Thu Ha has been living in an artistic environment. Over many generations, her family's singing has always received the love of a large audience in the South Central provinces. Her grandfather - People's Artist Nho Tuy - belongs to the "banyan tree, title tree" in the Vietnamese boi singing village. Her father - Elite Artist Quang Hao - has had roles that have been deeply imprinted in the hearts of the theater audience for a while. He is also the owner of the famous Thuy Duong singing troupe in the provinces of Quang Nam and Khanh Hoa. Growing up in such an artistic environment, since childhood, People's Artist Thu Ha has been fascinated by the roles of the characters

"My family lives thanks to the burden of singing boi, so since I was ten, I have been sitting by the chicken wing of the stage watching my aunts and uncles perform passionately. I also don't understand why I am so fascinated. Many nights when I slept, I still dreamed of playing my favorite roles. It is that passion that is the strength for me to be determined to pursue a career even in the most difficult circumstances," People's Artist Thu Ha confided.

Seeing her daughter's passion for the stage of singing boi, Elite Artist Quang Hao has worked hard to practice for People's Artist Thu Ha. The difficulty for her when she first entered the profession was that although she had a passion, she was not a talented person with the art of tuong. "Rough voice, tall figure, strong gestures are my own obstacles when coming to singing boi. But thanks to my father's perseverance, I gradually overcame my shortcomings, turning them into advantages to follow the profession from then on," she confided.

As a chil.d of the family, since childhood, People's Artist Thu Ha has been trained by her father to practice special skills. Instead of practicing peach roles in the art of tuong, she was trained to play double roles. This shows the right orientation of Elite Artist Quang Hao, as well as her efforts when determined to pursue singing boi. Because in the art of tuong, it is difficult for women to play female roles to succeed, and it is even more difficult for women to play male roles. Meanwhile, for a person who is not given the original artistic qualities like People's Artist Thu Ha, that effort is boundless. To succeed, in addition to passion and effort, it is also her creativity and eagerness to learn anytime, anywhere.

Remember, 13 years ago, hundreds of people, most of whom were people in the profession, sat under the audience and applauded endlessly when Artist Thu Ha threw herself into a sword dance on stage like a radiant and majestic female general Bui Thi Xuan in battle. It was one of Thu Ha's "lifetime" roles when she participated in the play of the same name of Tuong Khanh Hoa Theater at the National Tuong and Folk Opera Festival in 1999.

At that time, composer Nguyen Si Chuc told her that "Female General Bui Thi Xuan" was a script that he devoted a lot of effort to "writing specifically for Thu Ha", "sowing" words, Nguyen Si Chuc felt Thu Ha's voice, gestures and charisma there. However, during the process of making the play, composer Nguyen Si Chuyen as well as the director, People's Artist Pham Thi Thanh could not imagine that the "female general" Thu Ha was so ecstatic and sublime.

Previously, in 1995, Thu Ha won gold through the role of Son Tinh in the play "Son Tinh-Thuy Tinh". In 1993, attending the Festival of Good Tuong Excerpts organized by the Ministry of Culture and Culture in the "land of tuong" - Hue City, Thu Ha received 2 major awards: the gold medal for the role of Chu Du in the play "Three Gases of Chu Du" and the special prize for the best female actor playing the role of an excellent actor - Dong Kim Lan in the play "Son Hau". And before that, about 15 years after the liberation day, the stage name Thu Ha is associated with most of the main roles on the famous tuong stage of her adoptive father, Artist Four Hao. Researcher Tuong Mich Quang has repeatedly affirmed that "Thu Ha is pure gold!"

With her best efforts, People's Artist Thu Ha has created a proud artistic career with many awards, titles and roles that have left a deep impression on many generations of audiences. Artist Thu Ha won the Gold Medal of the Festival of Abstract Poetry in 1993, the Gold Medal of the National Professional Theater Festival in 1995, 1999, 2010. In 2001, artist Thu Ha was awarded the Outstanding Artist; in 2012 was awarded the People's Budget...

In May 2012, artist Tran Thi Thu Ha was the first person in the "Land of Agarwood" Khanh Hoa to be awarded the title of People's Artist (People's Artist). For the past 40 years, when it comes to Khanh Hoa theater, people remember the famous "talented" Ms. Dao Thu Ha in the double role. Describing her mood when receiving the good news, People's Artist Thu Ha confessed: "Tears... Silently keep the fire!".

Currently, her passion and love for the tuong stage is always burning in her, but for many different reasons, she does not often stand on stage to serve the public. However, that passion is being passed on to the next generation through classes at Nha Trang College of Culture, Arts and Tourism.
