In 2007, she was awarded the title People's Artist by the State. In 2018, she retired from the Youth Theater, then taught at the Directing Department, Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema.
Such is her success on the artistic path, but few people know that in the early days of her acting career, People's Artist Lan Huong was not supported by her family. However, that did not stop her from giving up and choosing to follow her family's arrangements.

As beautiful as she is, People's Artist Lan Huong used to have quite a difficult time in love. At the age of 18, People's Artist Lan Huong married an older colleague and gave birth to a daughter two years later. Living together made them both realize too soon that they were more passionate about each other than they truly shared. The two broke up, the ex-husband went abroad and took the children with him.
After the first breakup, People's Artist Lan Huong got married for the second time at the age of 24 to director Tat Binh and enjoyed a happy family life. After the first difficult years, the artist couple worked together to buy a small house. After moving several times, she and her husband saved up and bought a spacious 5-story house. They live there until now.
They are both people who have gone through breakups, so the artist couple has tried their best to overcome the storms together to achieve perfect happiness for more than 30 years. In particular, even though there are "your children" and "my children" in the family, both artist Lan Huong and director Tat Binh have very standard behavior, making neither child feel disadvantaged or feel sorry for themselves. . In an interview on Dan Tri, artist Lan Huong said her daughter calls director Tat Binh uncle. Her husband's stepdaughter also calls her aunt.
Talking about her life at the present time, Lan Huong said on Viet Life: "During the past 10 years, since I have not yet retired from the theater, I have still taught in the festival and event directing department. of the School of Theater and Cinema. But this year, I asked to stop to teach an acting class.
In addition, in my free time, I spend time doing housework and hanging out with friends. I also have old-age fun like going to church and going out. I also draw, practice belly dancing... But none of it works, only movies and theater are my main passions."
After retiring, People's Artist Lan Huong said: "I am still a normal person, living in a very normal residential area. My schedule is always busy with family work and teaching at school. , reading and writing scripts and then spending a lot of time on spiritual life. At this age, I like the scent of smoke."
