At the age of 9, Son was introduced to singing by comedian Duy Phuong - a famous artist - with the stage name "prodigy Canh Son". Explaining this name, according to artist Bich Hanh, he combined his father's and Son's names into a stage name so that his colleagues would know and help and facilitate him. However, that stage name did not last long. In 2008, Son changed his stage name to Nhat Son to escape the shadow of his father's name.

Although there was a time when he was considered a prodigy, due to the lack of a launching pad from his family, Nhat Son could not succeed as expected. Being a singer requires a lot of investment, but Son's situation is difficult, so his achievements are not outstanding compared to other singers his age.

Son's greatest achievement is reaching the semi-finals of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Contest in 2009. Because he could not make a name for himself, Nhat Son only performed at small events and tea rooms to earn money to live. .

That was a time of living in wealth and happiness" - artist Bich Hanh sadly said.

In his singing career, Nhat Son is most excited about the two albums he made with the support of a Dutch man: "Love Stains" and "I Still Sing". In addition, to earn more income, he collaborates with music tea rooms in Ho Chi Minh City.

Being killed by a homosexual lover just because of one glance

Being gay since childhood, Son grew up and had a relationship with a Dutch man who settled in Ho Chi Minh City mentioned above. Although this person protected and provided money to make two separate albums, the relationship did not last long. Living together as husband and wife for about 6-7 years, this person returned home and Son started a new love affair with another person also in Ho Chi Minh City. After about 2 years, they went their separate ways.

Coming to Dat - the third person - even though he knew that this person also had a decent wife and children, Son still accepted to live together. Dat is also someone who knows Son's gentle personality, so at first, the two did not have any conflicts.

Renting a house of about 50 square meters in Hoc Mon district to live together, every day Dat took Son to perform until dawn.

Because they earn a good income from singing, Dat and Son rarely have conflicts about money. However, because Son has many social relationships, Dat sometimes thinks that Son will leave him. From then on, Dat often showed jealousy. Son's acting activities were closely managed by Dat by frequently following him.

According to the landlady of the house rented to two people, Son was very gentle and hardly offended anyone in the boarding house. Although Dat is much older than Son, he is often gentle and treats people around him politely.

On the night of September 14, like every night, the landlady heard two people returning from a motorbike at around 2:00 a.m. Although she knew that during the more than 1 year of renting her house, Son and Dat often had conflicts with each other, but usually the two of them closed the door, so she only knew that there was an argument without knowing the cause. Seeing that Son couldn't hold on, Dat took his lover to the emergency room at Hoc Mon General Hospital, then transferred him to People's Hospital 115. Due to serious injuries, Son passed away soon after.

After committing the crime, Dat went to the police station and confessed his crime.

Regarding the cause of the crime, Dat stated that it was due to jealousy over Son singing for an overseas Vietnamese friend who had just returned home. Thinking that Son had feelings for this person, Dat attacked Son in a fit of jealousy.

"Seeing Son often flirting with his gay colleague, jealousy arose in me, causing me to interrogate Son," Dat confessed.

Talking at Son's funeral, artist Bich Hanh said that Son was a gentle, likable and polite person. One time, Son came over to visit and saw Son talking about his love life having many difficulties. She often encouraged and comforted him.
