Parents of NewJeans members posted a statement denying that there was an internal conflict. Although previously, Chosun Biz newspaper reported, some people had a view against terminating the contract with ADOR.
NewJeans parents confirmed that this was false news. They shared, "All 5 members have a clear stance that they cannot return to HYBE and this decision was made after a thorough discussion process with each family.
From the beginning, the members pledged that without the consent of all five people, they would not take any legal action, which shows that they have deep trust and solidarity with each other."
NewJeans parents emphasized that the members still maintain a common stance, and parents fully respect and support their children's decisions. Baseless rumors such as "conflicting families" or "members leaving the group" are false, aiming to cause internal division.
"The company, which must be the foundation of trust, takes advantage of the family situation of its members to manipulate the media. As parents, we can't send our kids back to that place.
Both ADOR after changing the board of directors and HYBE have never made us trust, so far nothing has changed," concluded NewJeans parent. Besides, NewJeans changed the name of their Instagram social media account from " NJZ" to "mhdh_friends" and deleted all previous posts. Instagram accounts managed by the members' parents also changed to "mhdhh_pr".
"mhdhh" is said to be an acronym for the first English letters in the members' names: Minji (M), Hanni (H), Danielle (D), Haerin (H), and Hyein (H).
This move was discovered 1 day after the first hearing of ADOR (part of HYBE Group) lawsuit against NewJeans to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract (court hearing on April 3). 5 NewJeans members have announced the termination of the exclusive contract with ADOR Company from November 2024 and start operating independently. In February, they announced that they would change the group's name to NJZ and set up social media accounts Insta.gram, Tiktok, Twitter, Tiktok under the name "NJZ".
In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contracts, along with an application for a temporary restraining order against NewJeans.
The NJZ representative went on to argue: "The fundamental trust between NJZ and ADOR has been broken, so we can't continue together. Instead of just looking at Min Hee Jin, we hope that the court will scrutinize whether the current ADOR is similar to the previous company that the group trusted, in the event of Min Hee Jin's dismissal, and whether it is really reasonable to rule that the parties should trust and continue with the current ADOR."
In response, ADOR said, "In terms of production, the defendant said that they couldn't promote without Min Hee Jin and they had to be together. While it's true that Min Hee Jin contributed to the creation of today's NJZ, it doesn't make sense to say that NJZ couldn't exist without Min Hee Jin.
On March 21, the application for a temporary injunction filed by ADOR was accepted by the court. This means that NewJeans is prohibited from operating independently and cannot participate in commercial activities without the consent of ADOR.
On March 23, NewJeans unilaterally announced the suspension of operations without discussing with ADOR. The five members said that they suspended their activities out of respect for the court's ruling, and emphasized that this is an absolutely necessary decision right now so that the group can come back stronger in the future. NewJeans' renaming of their social media accounts may be due to the ban that prevented the group from continuing to operate under the name NJZ.
NewJeans was mercilessly "ousted" by ADOR, preparing to launch a replacement bo.y group Thiên Di15:59:37 04/12/2024Recently, according to Allkpop, Korean netizens are buzzing about rumors that ADOR is preparing to launch a new bo.y group, after NewJeans announced the termination of the contract.
