Mylina: The muse caught the eye of SM Ent, favored by My Linh to "carry" a series of remarkable achievements

Once lucky to catch the eye of Korean entertainment company SM Entertainment, Mylina decided to stay in Vietnam to develop her career. She is also one of the "chicks" of diva My Linh.

As a "brand new" face in the Vietnamese music market. Mylina (real name Truong Minh Tuyet Anh, SN 2003, Hanoi) is currently a third-year student majoring in Marketing Communication, Academy of Journalism and Communication.

Mylina didn't choose to follow the familiar path. Instead, she challenged herself with a new musical style, personality and luckily attracted attention in the online community.

Talking about her destiny to music and art, Mylina shared: "I was fortunate to be exposed to the music and art environment very early. When I was 5 years old, my family facilitated me to take singing and dancing lessons at a cultural house near my home.

It was my dad who gave me a strong inspiration for music. Without his father and family always by his side to encourage and support, there would not be a confident Tuyet Anh who dares to live up to his current passion."

Initially, Mylina's father was nervous and wanted his daughter to become an English teacher or look for a stable job. But seeing her seriousness with passion and a clear vision for the future, the journalism student's family agreed to let her freely pursue her dreams.

However, the great motivation for her to pursue her dream is that her passion for music comes from herself, without any outside influence. In times of difficulty and the intention of giving up, Mylina is the one who picks herself up and thinks about why she started and what she will achieve in the future if she persists in pursuing it.

Before officially launching her first music product, Mylina had up to 5 years of professional vocal training with singer My Linh. In addition, the girl SN 2003 also taught herself more about music theory, learned to play the piano and practiced her musical composition skills.

"Through My Linh's vocal lessons, I really gained a deeper and more interesting perspective on the music and art industry. At the same time, I feel more appreciative of the singing profession and want to become a real artist like my predecessors," Mylina said.

Previously, Mylina was one of the bright faces retained by SM Entertainment after round 1 of the global talent selection session on 8/2023. Previously, Mylina was known for her singing practice video with teacher My Linh.

At that time, she was only 17 years old but already possessed a solid vocal technique foundation and a smart, different song handling mindset. Mylina has gradually proved her strength and is well received by the public.

Studying Marketing Communications but following the path of singing, Mylina does not think she is studying the wrong profession. Because art and entertainment activities are always associated with journalism and media.

Although her major is different from making music media products, studying in school has provided her with a solid foundation and basics of communication. Certain subjects on campus also helped during Mylina's launch and branding project.

With this musical "pitch", the 10x singer said that when releasing her pre-debut song BEAUTIFUL, Mylina encountered many mixed opinions related to her vocal ability.

She said: "I was quite surprised and sad. I have studied vocal music for 5 years, so I am also confident in singing. In addition, I want to build an image for myself as a real singer. After thinking about it, I realized that the problem lies more in the way the song is written and the way the song is handled, picky listeners. Since then, I have gained a lot of experience on how to process, compose and choose songs to do better in the project My Dream. Mylina welcomes and learns from everyone's sincere reviews and suggestions. My work and morale have so far been temporarily unaffected by comments on social media."

It is known that Mylina devotes herself to participating in almost all stages of production from composing, setting up rafts or conceptualizing MVs, costumes. More specifically, this song has a collaboration with musician Mickey Shiloh - who has collaborated with international stars such as Britney Spears, Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa... assisted Mylina in writing the melody for the song's hip-hop segment.

Commenting on the special collaboration with famous musician Mickey Shiloh, Mylina revealed: "Through an acquaintance on the crew, I had the opportunity to know Mickey Shiloh and the products she has written for Britney Spears, Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa...

At the time, I wanted to try writing a rap but didn't like it and got the idea. Luckily hearing Mickey's draft, I immediately tried to collaborate and put Vietnamese lyrics on the music.

It's not because I'm terrible, it's just that I'm lucky enough to meet the right person at the right time so the combination was born so quickly."

The debut song "My Dream" reached the top 1 of iTunes Vietnam (Hiphop/Rap) in less than 4 hours of release. As a new artist, she is very happy and cherishes this first digital achievement. This is the first and only Vietnamese song up to now with a mixpop music style, combining 2 genres of ballad and hiphop. Previously, Mylina released her pre-debut song BEAUTIFUL and thanks to that project, she was honored to become the face of the Fresh Finds Vietnam playlist on Spotify.

Mylina has always wondered about how to pursue art. She shared that she did not know where to start, what to do or how to become a singer. "Should I go to art school, or join an entertainment company, or try out for a music competition? The way to pursue art is boundless and not everything you want to do is immediately possible. In the end, I was fortunate to find friends, brothers and sisters to accompany and team up together to work on the debut project" - She added.

Sharing about her future plans, Mylina said: "I hope that I can launch many music products with new styles and be well received by the audience.

As for the foresight, I hope I can inspire more young people to pursue art, help them develop their talents and give clear directions so that they are no longer confused on this path."
