Miss Universe has officially made an important announcement about its senior leadership team. The organization emphasized that Thai transgender billionaire Anne Jakrajutatip will continue to accompany the pageant despite her "fall" in her career.
"We completely deny any information that there is a change in the organization's leadership. Ms. Anne Jakrajutatip remains the CEO of Miss Universe. Mr. Raúl Rocha continues to serve as president. There are no adjustments to our executive structure," Miss Universe informed.
Not only that, Miss Universe affirmed that these two characters will continue to develop the contest with great missions for women.
"These rumors are completely false and do not reflect the internal operations or direction of the organization. Under the continued leadership of Anne Jakrajutatip and Raúl Rocha, the Miss Universe Organization remains committed to its mission of empowering women around the world and creating a global platform to amplify the voice of aspiration, purpose and change," Miss Universe added.
Previously, the "internet" was stirred up by the news that Ms. Anne Jakrajutatip had given up all executive positions and withdrawn from JKN - the company that acquired the Miss Universe organization since 2022. This decision took effect from June 5. And currently, the largest shareholder of this company is Mr. Nawat - Chairman of the Miss Grand International organization, who is said to be replacing Ms. Anne. However, there has been no official announcement about the successor to the CEO position of the Miss Universe organization.
Accordingly, Ms. Anne Jakrajutatip and Ms. Pimpuma Jakrajutatip - Deputy General Director of Content Department were accused by the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of manipulating financial reports.
JKN, Ms. Anne Jakrajutatip and Ms. Pimpuma Jakrajutatip were found to have made false statements and maintained incomplete, inaccurate or false accounting records. These incidents related to the company's 2023 annual financial report and first quarter 2024 accounting documents.
In 2024, JKN, headed by Ms. Anne Jakrajutatip, was discovered to have purchased copyrights for content that overlapped with current copyrights, even though they had not expired, and had serious payment problems.
Over the 3-year period (2020-2023), the value of JKN's licensing assets grew strongly, but not commensurate with licensing revenue and trade receivables. This reflects a near-zero debt collection ability.
Ms. Anne Jakrajutatip and Ms. Pimpuma Jakrajutatip created fake creditor and debtor accounts in the 2023 and Q1/2024 financial statements, causing the financial statements to show inflated revenue and payables.
In addition, licensing payables were misreported between periods, resulting in understatement of the actual value of liabilities and assets in the 2023 report. This was accompanied by the transfer of many trade debts to the 2024 financial records. The fake creditors were also allegedly used to manipulate the election of the manager of JKN's business recovery plan.
In the land of golden temples, Ms. Anne Jakrajutatip is known as one of the powerful businesswomen in the field of media and entertainment. The transgender billionaire has just made history as the first woman to own the global beauty pageant Miss Universe in its 71-year history.
According to Forbes, as of 2020, Anne Jakkaphong is considered the richest transgender woman in Thailand, Asia and ranked 3rd in the world.
She graduated from Bond University (Australia) with a major in International Relations. Before becoming a business "boss" in Thailand, Anne went through many events and challenges.
In an interview with the Bangkok Post, Anne Jakrajutatip said that before her transition, she studied at an all-boys school in Thailand. Anne was bullied by her classmates and even harassed by her teachers for being different from everyone else.
She chose to drop out of school and started working at a gas station to make ends meet. Anne then left her hometown to study in Sydney, Australia.
Despite her familyâs objections, she underwent gender reassignment surgery while studying in Sydney. Anne decided to retain her deep male voice because it was part of her identity. After reading an article about Oprah Winfrey, a billionaire who had been abused and raised in the slums, Anne realized that media and business were the only paths to respect.
