Cinderella responds to "born at the finish line", being lectured about morality, denying her parents' gratitude

Recently, Cinderella took on the role of speaker for the first time at the TEDx Talk event, with a speech titled "No magic, just hard work".

In her 15-minute speech, delivered entirely in English, she opened with a familiar image from the Cinderella fairy tale. However, instead of talking about miracles, she focused on the aspect of people daring to step out of their comfort zone to seize opportunities.

"If Cinderella had doubted herself and not dared to step out, she would not have been able to change her life," she said.

Thao Linh shares the reality that many people today only see the results and ignore the effort behind. "They often say: 'You're just lucky. Everything you have is given to you. Success comes to you so easily. You don't even have to try. You were born at the finish line,'" she quotes.

Having struggled with these assessments, she frankly argued: "Yes, having a solid foundation from my family is a good start. But above all, was I just lucky and didn't have to work hard for my goals? Or was my success pre-determined? Why do people often think that success is something that is given instead of built?"

Thao Linh asserts that success does not come by itself but is the result of learning, development and perseverance. She emphasizes the role of her parents - who taught her the value of effort and the power of knowledge.

“And I learned that from the best, my parents. My family, my greatest source of strength, taught me to look at life from so many perspectives. Through them, I learned the value of hard work and the power of knowledge,” she said.

Thao Linh talks about her father - artist Quyen Linh - who worked many jobs to be able to study, because he believed that "knowledge opens doors". Her mother "built a career alone in a city far from home, despite the obstacles for a woman in a complicated city".

From that foundation, she became independent early on: "Since high school, I was able to pay for my own tuition and all personal expenses."

It wasn't without its struggles, she faced fear and self-doubt. But every little "spark" helped her move forward, grow, and become independent.

Linh shares her passion for painting and spending hours, even "20 hours a day perfecting the details of her drawings without complaining. I can do that for a month." From simple drawings, she developed her ability to paint in a realistic style and started a small business from art products - something she learned from her mother's entrepreneurial spirit.

In recent years, Thao Linh has shared her work and life on social media to inspire others. She admits that she is scrutinized and gossiped about, but remains steadfast: "I don't care, I just keep going. I sign up for extracurricular activities such as leadership competitions, dancing, performing, acting, art, photography, sports, even if I'm not as good as others."

Because of the many job opportunities, Thao Linh said her schedule is very tight, often starting before dawn and ending after midnight.

In the conclusion of her speech, she encouraged young people to overcome their fears and dare to step out of their comfort zone.
