On the evening of April 14, the producer and sponsor of "Vietnamese Family Home" suddenly announced that they would stop cooperating with MC Quyen Linh after 2 years of working together. Hoa Sen Group said that they are collecting legal documents to sue the male MC.
In a recent press release, Hoa Sen Group confirmed that artist - MC Quyen Linh has never been a brand ambassador of the company. Previously, MC Quyen Linh participated in hosting the program "Overcoming Yourself" produced by Lasta Multimedia Joint Stock Company, with sponsorship from Hoa Sen. However, the program stopped production in 2018.
In 2022, Hoa Sen cooperated with Bee Comm Company to produce the program "Vietnamese Family Home", broadcast every Friday night on HTV7. The first episode aired on October 5, 2022, hosted by MC Quyen Linh.
By August 2024, according to Hoa Sen, MC Quyen Linh had voluntarily participated in the program "Dream Journey" without notifying the sponsor and production unit. The fact that this program has similar content to "Vietnamese Family Home" led to many questions from the audience about the relationship between the two programs.
"We affirm that we have no connection to the program 'Dream Journey'," the announcement stated, adding that this caused misunderstandings and affected the Group's brand. At the same time, the announcement also wrote that artist - MC Quyen Linh had broken his commitments to the producer and sponsor of the program "Vietnamese Family Home" when reminded on October 31, 2024.
By October 31, 2024, after discussing with the production unit, the sponsor agreed to stop cooperating with MC Quyen Linh from the filming session in Ha Nam in November 2024. The program format was then also adjusted with the participation of many MCs instead of one host as before.
Hoa Sen Group said it is working with legal agencies to collect documents related to MC Quyen Linh's participation in similar programs, causing confusion to the public. If it is determined that it affects the brand's reputation, the company will take the necessary legal procedures to protect its rights.
"Currently, we and the legal consulting unit are gathering evidence related to the cooperation of Artist - MC Quyen Linh with other programs and units with a format similar to the program "Vietnamese Family Home" which may cause confusion for the audience, damage the reputation and brand of Hoa Sen Group and the program "Vietnamese Family Home" to initiate lawsuit procedures to protect our legitimate rights and interests," the announcement said.
In addition, this unit also warned of the situation of many social media accounts impersonating the program "Vietnamese Family Home" to sell goods and make personal profits. Hoa Sen is synthesizing information and will file a lawsuit if fraudulent behavior is detected, and at the same time requesting the authorities to handle it according to regulations.
Right after the announcement from the program Vietnamese Family Home, MC Quyen Linh also had an official response on his personal page.
The artist said he is not the exclusive MC for any program, nor is he the producer or has the right to decide on the content, rules or communication strategy of the programs.
"My biggest goal when participating in social programs is always to reach out to those in difficult circumstances, contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual love, which I have been pursuing from the first days of my career until today," MC Quyen Linh affirmed.
Regarding the coincidence between the content of the programs, MC Quyen Linh said that "helping the disadvantaged should not be limited by any brand or name". The male MC also apologized for his appearance on another program causing misunderstandings or affecting other units.
"Once again, I would like to affirm that what I most desire is not to host a program for the poor, but to continue to share, accompany, and contribute a small part to many programs with values that spread love in society, regardless of the role," Quyen Linh said.
