Amidst the hustle and bustle of extravagant entertainment news, the story of Mr. Quang – the man who just performed a breathtaking rescue of two children from the clutches of death in Da Nang – is becoming the center of attention, touching the hearts of the online community.
No special effects, no elaborate script needed; the courage of an ordinary citizen created a happy ending like something out of a movie, right in real life.
A breathtaking midday rescue
The incident occurred around 1:30 PM on March 29th at Nguyen Tat Thanh beach in Da Nang. As the Central Vietnamese sun began to intensify, Mr. Quang went swimming as usual. However, this trip to the beach became an unforgettable milestone in his life and the lives of his family and two young grandchildren.
While resting on the shore, his eyes inadvertently caught sight of a horrifying scene in the distance. Sharing his experience with the press, Mr. Quang still vividly recalled the shock: "Luckily, the seawater was crystal clear, so I could clearly see one person sinking and another struggling in the water. At that moment, neither of them could even cry out, so I immediately rushed out without thinking."
That instinctive action was the difference between life and death. In the vast ocean, when the two victims were too exhausted to cry for help, only Mr. Quang's keen observation and quick reaction could have turned the tide.
A race against time
Upon approaching the target, Mr. Quang was shocked to realize it was two young children (7 and 5 years old). Both had collapsed from drowning. With his experience and decisiveness, he quickly lifted the two children, held them tightly by their sides, and used all his strength to run to shore.
Luck was on his side as the water in that area wasn't too deep, saving him precious moments to get the children out of the water. However, the challenges didn't end there: The older child (7 years old): Fortunately, still conscious but panicked. The younger child (5 years old): Had fallen unconscious, with weak breathing.
Immediately, an emergency "consultation" took place right on the beach. Mr. Quang called out to the locals, coordinating with security staff from the nearby tourist area to perform CPR on the spot. The second cry of the newborn baby, after a long period of first aid, brought overwhelming relief to all those present.
A heartwarming ending and a cautionary tale.
Instead of abandoning the victims, Mr. Quang continued to accompany the ambulance taking the two children to Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. Only when he was certain that the children had received safe medical care did he quietly return home in the late afternoon.
The accident was caused by the children's carelessness. While playing, the two brothers dropped their sandals, which were swept away by the waves. Regretting the loss of their toy, they tried to chase after it but their feet slipped into deep water. The large waves continuously pulled them in and out, completely exhausting them.
By March 30th, the good news about the recovery of the two children brought absolute peace of mind to our "hero". In recognition of this noble act of selflessness, the People's Committee of Hai Van Ward promptly visited his home to present him with a certificate of commendation and praise.
The bizarre and unique custom of eating soil in Vietnam is so rare that even at exorbitant prices, it's impossible to buy.
An Thảo08:58:00 26/03/2026Amidst the myriad of modern delicacies, Thong Nhat village still maintains a peculiar culinary tradition: eating soil. Not ordinary sand or soil, but a type of pristine white clay, like the powder on roof tiles, is becoming a luxurious snack with exorbitant prices.
