Because of a minor traffic accident, Tran Van Quoc (26 years old) turned an afternoon in the city of a thousand flowers into the scene of a horrific brawl. As a result, 7 people were injured and the young man was handcuffed.
Conflict arising from a bizarre motorcycle accident.
The incident began at noon on February 25, 2026, after a drinking session on Ngo Quyen Street. Tran Van Quoc was driving his motorbike while under the influence of alcohol. When he reached 60 Hoang Dieu Street, Quoc suddenly fell onto the road because a Phuong Trang shuttle bus driven by Huynh Duy Minh (43 years old) abruptly pulled over to pick up passengers.
Instead of handling the situation civilly, Quoc lost his temper, chased after and blocked Minh's car, assaulted him on the spot, and then left. It seemed his anger had subsided, but that was only the beginning of a series of uncontrolled actions that followed.
The "hunt" at the intercity bus station.
Still resentful about the fall, on the afternoon of February 25th, Quoc drove his private car to the Da Lat Interprovincial Bus Station to "settle the score" with driver Minh. There, despite attempts by security guards and relatives to intervene, the 26-year-old's alcohol level had overwhelmed his judgment.
The incident culminated when Mr. Minh's son, Huynh Gia Huy, and his friend, upon hearing that their father had been assaulted, rushed to the bus station. Seeing Quoc parked in front of a gas station, Huy lunged at him, attacking him with a helmet. In the ensuing chaos, Quoc managed to escape and jumped into the driver's seat of the car.
Horrific events unfolded as follows: Instead of driving away, Quoc accelerated and drove straight into the crowd who were trying to intervene and refueling at the gas station. The head-on collision injured seven people. After causing this horrific scene, Quoc sped away from the scene.
The bitter consequences of high blood alcohol levels.
On February 26th, the Xuan Huong Ward Police (Da Lat) issued an emergency arrest warrant for Tran Van Quoc to investigate the act of "Disrupting public order". The test results showed: Alcohol concentration: 0.238 mg/l in breath. Drugs: Negative. Casualties: 7 people injured (fortunately, their lives were not in danger).
By February 27th, authorities in Lam Dong province were continuing to consolidate the case file, extract camera footage, and take statements from witnesses to clarify the incident. Images of the white car speeding wildly into the gas station, which circulated on social media, sparked outrage among the public over the driver's blatant disregard for the law.
Instead of a happy ending after a few drinks, Tran Van Quoc chose to end a joyful day with the roar of an engine and the panic of innocent people. The fateful acceleration at the Da Lat gas station on the afternoon of February 25th not only left scars on seven victims but also single-handedly erased the 26-year-old's name from his life of freedom. In this violent "drama," an inflated ego and high blood alcohol levels transformed a minor traffic accident into a costly criminal conviction, proving that when reason is extinguished by alcohol, the price to pay is always belated regret behind bars.
The frenzied incident at the Da Lat gas station on the afternoon of February 25th was not just a criminal case, but also a costly lesson about the price of excessive ego fueled by drunkenness. A minor collision on the road could have been resolved with an apology, but Tran Van Quoc chose to engage in violence, ending with a reckless acceleration. Don't let alcohol control the steering wheel, and don't let momentary anger turn your car into a weapon. Because after those moments of illusory satisfaction from getting revenge, what awaits each person is nothing but belated regret behind bars and a guilty conscience when facing innocent victims.
