Hong Viet - Grandson of General Vo Nguyen Giap and marriage with grandmaster's wife

Hong Viet is the son of Ms. Vo Hong Anh and his father is Doctor of Theoretical Physics Phan Truc Long, son of the late Lawyer - Minister of Defense Phan Anh. And Hong Viet's mother is the only daughter with the first wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

During a business trip to Singapore as the owner of an informatics company, Hong Viet was invited to watch a dancesport tournament. After the crisis of losing her mother, Hong Viet felt that she could not keep both the company and her dance career at the same time - 2 jobs that require high concentration. And he chose sports dancing. Since then, Phan Hong Viet has followed a career in dance without following the path of research or politics as is the family tradition.

Phan Hong Viet has gradually become a familiar face to dancesport lovers in Vietnam with 10 years of seniority in dance. Attending international sports events such as the Sea Games, ASIAD, Asian Indoor Games... he has participated in the Vietnam Dancesport National Team for 4 consecutive years.

Phan Hong Viet won the title of grandmaster of the country's dancesport village in 2007. Along with Chi Anh, Khanh Thi..., Hong Viet is one of the first players to make a name for the country's dance village.

Accepting the invitation to participate in the hot seat Universal Dance is also the first time Phan Hong Viet has appeared in public as a judge in a live broadcast TV program. Phan Hong Viet attracted attention when he married female grandmaster Thu Trang in 2011 with a quite special wedding with a dance costume and the participation of many prominent faces in the country's dancesport village. The bride in particular and the girl's family in general are completely unaware of the wedding.

"All of them are my guests, regardless of whether the boy's house is a girl's," Hong Viet affirmed and only asked how many guests his wife's house needed to invite. The press reported that the wedding of the 2 was also a "march" of the top dancers at that time.

There is a special thing that 2 years after getting to know each other, Thu Trang accidentally learned about the special background of her lover 11 years older than her through a friend. "At the first meeting, although it was just "looking at the face and catching the picture", I believed that Mr. Viet was definitely a kind man. For some reason, I had thoughts like nails from the beginning, even though I was only a 19-year-old girl at that time, and I didn't even understand life. And fortunately for me, the initial hunch was always correct," Thu Trang recalled.

"I was never pressured to be this or that person to be worthy of family traditions, but on the one hand, when I looked at it, I also realized very early that I had to try to live well, not to do anything bad, not to make my relatives bother me because of me. So I tried to calm down; if I intend to be angry, I also try to ignore it," Hong Viet said.

Hong Viet - Thu Trang did not know each other on the training floor like many other couples in the dancesport village, but it was this girl who was "invited" by him to practice, at first just for fun, but no one thought about doing a job or going to compete. With a company specializing in informatics that was established right after graduating from the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 1992 and quickly developed with an army of more than 100 people, Hong Viet was now a successful young entrepreneur.

The young boss appears in the gym every day with a "dusty" appearance. "I didn't even know he was a businessman, let alone a background. He hid it, not to "test his heart" but simply to be humble and discreet," Thu Trang said.

"An adult man who has to take out his so-called "family background" to conquer a girl, in my opinion, is a book. Convincing someone, not just a girl, in my opinion, should only be by your own personality, your way of life, to be worthy of a man!", Hong Viet once said.

Hong Viet once confided that he respected the sacrifice of his wife. A woman with a small physique like Thu Trang, without sacrifice, it is difficult to pursue the same discipline that requires too much energy and willpower like dancesport.

"When he tells me that you can only stand on the training floor with you and walk on the podium with you, it means that, no matter how much you sweat, no matter how much you have to suppress the pain and accept the trade-offs, I have no reason to give up." Thu Trang said and did not consider it a sacrifice but simply "accompanyed".
