Nam Phuong Dinh's real name is Dinh Thi Nam Phuong, born on November 26, 1993. She comes from a prestigious family, is the eldest daughter of Mr. Dinh Ba Thanh - chairman of the top media group in Vietnam (DatVietVAC).
DatVietVAC is one of the largest media and entertainment companies in the country with dozens of member companies, including many prominent names that have made a lot of noise in the media field such as: Dong Tay Promotion (TV program producer), Vie Channel ((private TV channel), TKL (copyright supply company), NOMAD MGMT Vietnam (international talent management company), M&T Pictures (TV film production company). In particular, Vie Channel is a prominent name recently when cooperating with Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) to produce and broadcast Rap Viet - the hottest game show of 2020.
Nam Phuong graduated with First Class Honours from Oxford University, UK, majoring in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). She also studied at Hoa Binh, Nguyen Du, International School of Ho Chi Minh City, Charterhouse and Roedean schools in the UK.
While studying at Oxford University, Nam Phuong achieved many outstanding achievements such as: Global Shaper member of the World Economic Forum, Vice President of the Oxford Union. In particular, she was voted "Most Eligible Bachelorette" because of her wide network of friends and outstanding extracurricular activities.

In November 2016, Nam Phuong was invited to attend the Le Bal des Debutantes (abbreviated as Le Bal) ball held at the most luxurious hotel in the city of light, Paris (France). Nam Phuong was invited thanks to the contribution of the Nam Phuong Foundation and is the only Vietnamese gir.l among 25 girls invited to the ball each year. Le Bal is the most attractive ball in the world because it is only for about 20-25 girls from noble and influential families and clans in the world and is only for girls aged 16-22.
To be invited to the ball, each gir.l selected must meet extremely strict principles. The girls are often the daughters of extremely wealthy families, noble families around the world, families with contributions to art and politics, but the top prerequisite is always the level of knowledge. The ball has had the presence of extremely special characters whose names alone can tell the class of the party such as: German Countess Victoria von Faber-Castell, Egyptian Princess Fawzia Latifa, Italian Princess Irina Strozzi, ...
Nam Phuong shared about her fate of being invited to the ball: "This was truly a very coincidental stroke of luck for me. My parents didn't know about this ball. But there was a jewelry collector who was a family friend. That day, Phuong sat in the reception and translated so that a few family members could communicate more easily. She met Nam Phuong and kindly offered to write a letter of introduction to Phuong to le Bal. I didn't expect that after she said that, Phuong would receive an invitation."
For the ball, all the girls stayed at the Peninsula Paris hotel, had their hair done by Alexandre de Paris, and their makeup done by the Mac team. At the ball, all the girls wore Haute Coutre, Payal New York jewelry, and Louboutin shoes - all sponsored by the brands.
Nam Phuong also shared more experiences from the ball: "What Nam Phuong remembers most at Le Bal is not the candles, roses or waltzes but the close friendship between the girls. All of them come from extremely prestigious backgrounds and are expected to become future leaders, but no one is arrogan.t or unapproachable. After the Le Bal dream, the girls, representing their generation, will bring knowledge and humane messages, to raise a strong voice in society."
Inspired by father's perseverance
Since childhood, she witnessed how her father, Mr. Dinh Ba Thanh, built and led the group with consistency and principles that did not tolerate mediocrity. "Anyone who worked with my father could see that the goal was never to 'get it done' but to make the final product optimal and brilliant, regardless of how much effort it took or how much it exceeded initial expectations.
At the same time, always maintain the principle of integrity, no matter how favorable or difficult it is".
"I see that struggle every day and it is this perseverance that has influenced me a lot. If you do something, you have to do it to the end and do it well, because only when you reach the limit of perfection, can lasting value truly be formed," Nam Phuong said. This strictness can be a pressure for those who work with him, but Nam Phuong believes that it is an important lesson that helps her practice a professional working mindset.
The businesswoman believes that "people will always look at me under a stricter standard" just because she is the daughter of the corporation. Therefore, she chooses to work carefully, thoroughly and seriously, to prove that her value does not only come from her starting point.
"I don't aim to make a personal mark in the organization, because I believe true value lies in effectively contributing to the overall picture. I hope that good work results will speak for themselves, instead of having to intentionally leave an ostentatious mark," said Nam Phuong.
'Real-life experience - the fuel for lasting creativity'
Instead of chasing after flashy or ostentatious values, Nam Phuong believes that fashion, like everything else, must first serve oneself, helping one feel confident and comfortable. "A brand is just a fashion brand, whether it has a name or not, as long as it is suitable, it is the best choice," she said.
Besides, travel and art are also two important factors that help her develop her vision. "When I witnes.s the aurora borealis in the night sky or stand in the middle of the endless desert, I am reminded of the vastness of the world and my own smallness. All these positive collisions, although not individually creating breakthrough ideas, gradually accumulate to create thinking and nurture creativity," she said. For Nam Phuong, practical experience is an important and irreplaceable material for her career, which motivates her to explore more and learn more every day.
The businesswoman said that her wish is to contribute to bringing the Vietnamese media and entertainment industry further, to be competitive enough in the international market. She clearly understands that in an increasingly fierce playing field with the participation of global corporations with superior financial, technological and experience potential, domestic enterprises that want to develop sustainably cannot rely only on their existing strengths, but need to continuously innovate and maintain their own identity; at the same time, receive active support from the State through policies and laws.
She also encourages young people in any field to commit, try and learn continuously because whether they succeed or fail, these will be necessary steps on the journey to maturity.
