I do not have the talent and patience to learn the traditional instrument, so I had to choose the path of singing modern music. However, I determined that I must always try my best and live up to the love that the audience has for my grandfather. Besides the youth music, I have tried hard to study to get acquainted with the music with the Southern folk music, close to the pentatonic music that my grandfather taught me."

And two songs with the folk melody of the homeland music genre: Thuong Qua Viet Nam by musician Pham The My and the song Mung Tuoi Me by musician Tran Long An, were performed by Duong Buu Trung in two programs Cau Vong Tuoi Tho and Buoc Chan Hai The Generation. He also introduced to the audience a new CD Album that he woven into a rather impressive story in the music publication called "I Believe in Love".

After a period of working in Vietnam, Duong Buu Trung moved to the US to settle down. He said: "I have been in the US for 12 years now, after working in Vietnam for more than ten years. In the US, I only worked as a singer, not an actor.

When I decided to stay in the US, I only had $500 in my pocket. I spent that $500 to study nail art to make a living, but suddenly I got a gig doing some singing so I stopped studying nail art.

I have shows every week so I can make a living. I have to thank the show producers for loving me. I'm a shy person, I invite anyone but I don't dare call anyone to ask for shows."

Comedian Thuy Nga revealed: "I see that Duong Buu Trung works very hard on shows and probably gets paid reasonably so he gets invited a lot. When Duong Buu Trung bought a house in the US, everyone was shocked because at that time, few artists could buy a house. At that time, I also couldn't buy a house."

Duong Buu Trung shared: "I don't do any other business, I just sing, but I also save money and live within my means.
