The surgery was successful, but it left a deep dent in her left jaw and a scar that stretched across half her face. That dent haunted Huong throughout her childhood, causing her to live with an inferiority complex and become withdrawn. The teasing and gossip from her friends and people around her made her even more self-conscious, especially when a male classmate in her middle school class gave her the nickname "Huong Crooked".

Once, during recess, Huong was beaten by her friends, leaving her arms and legs scratched. "They were jealous of the teachers' attention and favor, so they came and beat me up," Huong recalled.

Entering grade 12, Huong began to learn to live more carefree. She realized that being sad or crying would not change other people's attitudes, so she decided to live more comfortably to easily integrate with the people around her.

In early 2023, Huong accidentally learned about a program that supports free cosmetic surgery for people in special circumstances. She asked for the support of friends and relatives to participate in the vote, and was finally lucky enough to receive a valuable "ticket", helping her realize her dream of changing her appearance.

In September 2023, Huong went to the surgery site, temporarily leaving her family to begin her treatment. Within 6 months, she underwent 4 consecutive surgeries. One surgery lasted more than 10 hours, but Huong always kept her spirits up and recovered quickly after each surgery.

The day she returned home after 6 months away, Huong's family was surprised and did not recognize her. Only when she said hello did everyone run to hug her and burst into tears. One of the most memorable moments in her life was when she returned home after 6 months of surgery and met her grandmother again. Because her new appearance was so different, Huong followed her grandmother to the market without being recognized, until she introduced herself, and her grandmother hugged her in joy.

The tears of relatives and neighbors made Huong really touched and grateful. "I feel like a princess, more confident, no longer shy," the 10X said.

With her dramatic transformation, Huong's life has completely changed. She confidently goes out without wearing a mask, and comfortably takes photos without having to cover her sunken face like before. Working at the garment company is no longer an obstacle as she can easily communicate and make friends with people around her. Compliments from her colleagues have brought her joy and happiness every day.
