Although the situation is not very well-off, the owner of the charity vegetarian restaurant still tries his best to help the poor in the city. Ho Chi Minh.
The Covid-19 pandemic has not only affected health but also severely damaged the economy. Poor workers lost their jobs, F0 cases lacked food, students - students staggered in the middle of the distance order. Empathizing with these difficulties, Mr. Cuong's vegetarian kitchen is still on fire every day, sending nutritious meals to the field hospital, the frontline medical team fighting the epidemic.
Recently, the news that the owner of the vegetarian kitchen Cuong Fat suddenly passed away has made many people extremely sad. It is known that in the past 2 months, he and his associates actively participated in cooking rice for charity but unfortunately contracted Covid-19 on August 16. After that, his whole family including his wife and some people also tested positive for Sars-Cov-2, had to go to isolation and treatment. On August 17, he was taken to a concentrated isolation ward for treatment and died on August 22.
In the eyes of his colleagues, Mr. Cuong is a cheerful and compassionate person. Before entering the hospital, the owner of the charity kitchen still did not forget to advise and arrange the work in a safe manner. Fatty Cuong's departure is a great loss to his family, wife and children and loved ones.
As soon as he heard the bad news, Do Hoc - a friend of Cuong Beo said that before he discovered he had COVID-19, he was still working hard to send bread to people:
"When he was hospitalized, he still called and asked his friends in the group to send the remaining bread to the needy. He always only thought of other people, and I was just simple and casual. ".
When he was alive, Chef Cuong Beo spent almost all of his thoughts, feelings and energy on doing good deeds. "He opened a social vegetarian restaurant for the poor, mobilized, raised money to support the needy, built houses, donated bicycles... to those in need. No matter how much he did, he gave it to charity. , did not accumulate, left nothing for his wife and children... Until he died, he did not leave anything for his family," Hoc said sadly.
It is known that Cuong Beo's real name is Vu Quoc Cuong, born in 1975, living in Ben Nghe ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) has maintained 2 social vegetarian restaurants to support the poor for many years. Although located deep in a small alley, Cuong Beo vegetarian restaurant has always been a familiar address for thousands of poor people in Ho Chi Minh City.
After 6 days of treatment at the concentrated isolation area, on August 22, an employee of the Ben Nghe Ward Medical Station confirmed the information that Mr. Vu Quoc Cuong died from COVID-19 infection: "When I heard that Mr. sick, we have taken measures to support. Currently, this family's house is still under blockade. There is an old man in the house, we will support him."
At the place where she was waiting to receive her husband's ashes, Dieu Tuyen - Cuong Beo's wife choked up and confided: "Before his death, Mr. Cuong devoted all his heart to volunteering, so the family's economy was barely enough to eat. The couple work hard but still have to live in a rented house less than 20m2.
When the city implements social distancing, family members go to buy food to reserve, he spends all his money to buy boxes, bags, vegetarian food for the house.
When I asked, he said he would cook rice, leave the box and send it to the poor and homeless. Up to now, there are only two or three kilograms of rice left in the house. But because his family understands his wishes, he has never blamed him."
Instead, Ms. Tuyen always tries to collect and take care of everything in the family so that he can do volunteer work with peace of mind: "He left without leaving any property because of how much he had put into volunteering. Maybe he just left his virtue and heart for the community.
"Now, I just hope that my children can study well, maintain a social restaurant so that I can share difficulties with students and the poor like he once wished when he was alive."
More painful than this moment is Dieu Tuyen (Cuong Beo's wife). The source said that she had just been discharged from the hospital to prepare for her husband's funeral. She lamented that her family had been doing charity work for many years, but had suffered too much loss. Before her husband died from Covid-19, she also lost her mother to the disease. "Currently, our family is separated. My mother and husband have passed away due to the epidemic. My children are still quarantined at each place. Only one child is studying in medical university and participating in the frontline against the epidemic. I've just been discharged from the hospital and stayed at my brother's house to wait for my husband's ashes to be received. The rented house in District 1 is still under blockade," said Ms. Tuyen choking.

Previously, Trinh Thuy's Facebook account shared about the departure of Mr. Cuong Beo, which was very sympathetic:
Hello!!
Over 2 months of accompanying each other, Mr. Cuong Beo's kitchen has greatly supported hospitals and frontline fighting against the epidemic. He is cute, patient, gentle, extremely funny and loved by everyone who comes in contact with him.
When there was a shortage of staff to cook rice, he changed to making sweet bread in the morning for doctors and nurses before entering the shift.
He never rested or thought for himself. Remember the last words he said when he was admitted to the hospital on August 17: 'Thanh, I am positive, please continue. What do you need to call'...
Well, this life is enough. May you rest in peace, thank you for meeting and accompanying the past journey!
Thank you for everything you have given in this life. See you again!!!'.
