Few people know that in ancient times, 'fat' was considered a sign of wealth and prestige, that's why the anecdote about the fattest emperor in China startled many people.
One of the emperors considered fat in Chinese history was the emperor of the Northern Qi Dynasty - Gao Yanzong of the Southern and Northern Dynasties.
Historical books once described this emperor as the King of Pluto with "a fat face, sitting on his back, like a squatting back".
Many people saw his fat as a joke, that's why Cao Dien Tong was so angry that he started to lose weight. Thanks to that, he later walked more smoothly.
But in fact, there is a fattest emperor in Chinese history that is the emperor Huan Chau - Huan Xuan.
According to legend, each meal, the emperor ate more than 20 pounds of meat and had great difficulty walking, and at night needed the help of the palace maids when he loved his concubines.
He is an emperor who is no stranger to being the last powerful man of the Jin Dynasty. During Emperor Tan An's reign, he forced the Emperor to give up the country's jade seal and abdicate for himself, then Huan Xuan proclaimed himself emperor, changing his name to Chu. To distinguish him from other Zhou regimes, historians refer to the Zhou regime established by Huan Chun as Lord.
During this period, Emperor Huan Xuan - the emperor of Huan Chau was extremely fat.
"Huan Xuan came to court, the dragon bed suddenly collapsed, all the officials lost their color", history books once recorded.
That is, when Huan Xuan became emperor, he sat on the dragon chair for the first time and the dragon chair was broken.
Most dragon chairs are usually made of metal, the front is made of copper or mahogany. However, when such a sturdy chair was broken, it was enough to understand how heavy Emperor Huan Xuan was.
Even in folklore, there are many rumors that Huan Xuan especially likes to eat meat. Accordingly, each meal he ate more than 20 ounces of meat, especially beef, it was not surprising that he collapsed the dragon chair.
In anecdotes, it is also said that the fatter Huan Xuan, the harder it is to walk, it is also difficult to look down the road, and it is difficult to turn over in bed. Whenever he wanted to favor his concubine, this emperor needed the help of many court ladies. Just thinking about this scene is enough to make posterity laugh.
Whether the stories about this emperor are accurate or not, today's posterity can't help but be interested and curious about the stories revolving around the kings in Chinese history.
Previously, people were also surprised by the Chinese king who died because of an affair with the prime minister's wife.
Accordingly, Qi Trang Cong's real name is Khuong Quang - the 25th king of the Qi state, a vassal of the Zhou dynasty in Chinese history. He was the eldest son of Qi Ling Gong and ruled the country from 553 to 548 BC.
Even though he was the eldest son, he had an extremely "turbulent" childhood when he was once sent to Jin state in 555 BC as a hostage so that the king of Jin would not attack the state of Qi. After returning to the country, Qi Trang Cong was bullied by his father's two lovers, Trong Co and Nhung Co, and had to go to town to defend the city.
However, thanks to the support of the prime minister, Thoi Tru, Qi Zhuang Cong retained the position of crown prince and then ascended the throne in 554 BC. In order to take revenge, not long after he ascended the throne, he "cut down" with both his father's love and his half-brother.
Although he was greatly helped by the prime minister, Cui Thu, he was able to take the throne, but Qi Trang Cong did not respect the public god. He even cheated with his wife Cui Tru and insulted the other many times, so he finally "died" at his mistress's house.
According to history books, not long after marrying a concubine named Duong Co, Cui Thu invited Qi Trang Cong to his home to have dinner and bless him. Being an enthusiastic person, as soon as he saw the beautiful Duong Co "respectful, inclined to become", Qi Trang Cong fell in love. Meanwhile, Duong Co was also a flirt, so the two immediately got Cui Tru drunk and then secretly cheated at home.
Since that evening, Qi Zhuang Gong repeatedly used the excuse to go to Cui Tru's house to discuss water matters, but the main purpose was still to sneak "rain clouds" with Tang Co. However, "the needle in the bag for a long time also came out". Cui Tru finally discovered that Qi Trang Cong was "stealthy" with his love concubine. However, due to fear of kingship, he had to "turn a blind eye".
However, Qi Trang Cong "was on the right foot, the lion in the head", seeing that Cui Ning was patient, he did not dare to show his attitude, the more unruly. The culmination is that after having sex with Tang Co, King Qi also took the vizier's hat, considering it as a small gift.
Seeing the king becoming more and more unruly, openly cheating with his concubine, Cui Thu decided to take revenge.
In 548 BC, Qi Zhuang Gong held a banquet to entertain the king of Ju, but Cui Shu did not come because of his illness. After hearing the news, King Qi immediately made an excuse to visit the public, but the main purpose was still to meet Tang Co.
However, Qi Trang Cong did not know that this was just a trap. As soon as he entered the room, Cui Thu locked the door and ordered his subordinates to surround him on all sides. Realizing the danger, King Qi immediately tried to climb the wall to escape, but was shot in the leg and fell.
Immediately, Cui Chu's subordinates rushed to stab Qi Trang Cong to death. Even the bodyguards who followed to protect the king were also cleaned up. After killing the king, Thoi Tru buried Qi Trang Cong in a small hamlet named Si Ton. At the same time, he also helped Khuong Chu Cuu - Trang Cong's half-brother to become king, taking the name Qi Canh Cong.
