Tam Doan is the eldest sister in the family, she also has two younger brothers who are both pursuing a music career, one of which is overseas singer Kristine Sa (real name Huynh Ngoc Nha Yen).

From a young age, the singer had the opportunity to be exposed to music. Tam Doan was allowed by her parents to participate in cultural activities in the Children's House's Arts Team, then was selected to participate in the program Singing young bamboo shoots on Radio Song Be province (now Binh Duong province). At the age of 12, Tam Doan was given the opportunity to study Mandoline and Guitar.

In 2001, after the contract with Van Son Center expired, Tam Doan continued to be invited by Thuy Nga to sign an exclusive contract. Since then, she began to appear on the stage of Thuy Nga and gradually became the most popular vocalist here. Tam Doan's voice was first introduced in the program Paris by Night 63 - the theme "Time Line".

From 2009 to 2014 the female singer collaborated with Asia center. In 2014 she returned to Thuy Nga center and started appearing from the show Paris By Night 112.

Singer Tam Doan married singer Tien Dung in 2006 in Canada. After getting married, she and her husband moved to the US to live and develop their career here.

Since giving birth to two little princesses, Tam Doan has been singing less to spend time taking care of her family. She only sings on weekends and spends most of the week with her children. Tam Doan's husband - singer Tien Dung is an architect who used to work in Saigon.
