It is known that People's Artist Tran Binh has known Ai Van since 1971, when he participated in making short plays for Television Station. After that, Ai Van went to the South to join the Bong Sen dance troupe cum radio announcer.

In 1976, Ai Van graduated from Hanoi Conservatory of Music and after graduating, worked at the Vietnam Light Music Theater in 1979, where People's Artist Tran Binh worked. The two got married in 1982 and have a son together.

It is worth mentioning that, before coming together, both of them had a boat trip. Ai Van's first husband was a mime artist Dang Dung and the previous wife of People's Artist Tran Binh was Ms. Hong.

The wedding of Ai Van and People's Artist Tran Binh was held quite luxuriously on the second floor of Bodega, Trang Tien, with many guests in the industry and the artists of the North.

It is worth mentioning that, at the time of marriage, Ai Van seemed to be famous and had a family "above" People's Artist Tran Binh. She is the daughter of the famous Cai Luong artist Ai Lien and Mr. Ha Quang Dinh, owner of Viet Film (the first private film studio in Vietnam).

At that time, Ai Van had just returned from a performance in Russia, had 4 gold threads in her hand and spent all of her wedding preparations, building a loft at 38 Hue Street for the couple to live in.

Meanwhile, People's Artist Tran Binh was quite difficult after divorcing his first wife. Therefore, People's Artist Tran Binh decided to stay in Ai Van's family. This is one of the decisions that he still considers a mistake to this day, leading to a marriage tragedy between the couple. He confided:

"The couple's every move, the whole family knew. Not to mention, the family of the wife's parents were against Van marrying me. At that time, Van was a branch of gold and jade leaves, followed by all overseas Vietnamese. While I was just a lame actor.

As for eating rice alone, almost 20 years later, I still feel terrible. Every meal I invite dozens of family members in turn. Then the summer story, the couple lay together, the father-in-law got up to make a review...".

On the contrary, on her side, Ai Van said that the divorce was because she could not stand her ex-husband. She said:

"I can't imagine my life having such fierce years. I read it myself without holding back tears and pain.

That husband is a dancer, very good, talented. Only thing, it's okay when I'm happy, and when I'm sad, I'm nothing, like a dog and a cat in the house. I'm an artist, I don't want my image to be less shimmering in the eyes of the audience."

Despite the tragic marriage, People's Artist Tran Binh at that time still loved Ai Van very much, so he did not accept a divorce. This caused Ai Van to make the foolish decision to commit suicide by taking sleeping pills. After that, she was immediately sent to Germany to study abroad, causing a stir in the press, surprising public opinion, and everyone gossiping.

Post-divorce difficult but happy ending

In Germany, Ai Van sang for some small shows of the Vietnamese community, then auditioned at Thuy Nga and was signed a recording and video recording contract. She went to France to perform and then settled in the US.

During the first time working on bail, Ai Van was accepted by the audience and many colleagues. However, Ai Van has gradually conquered the audience and colleagues thanks to her talent. Not only can she sing well, but Ai Van is also very good at acting and dancing beautifully, so she can take care of complicated dance performances on Thuy Nga's stage.

Meanwhile, in the country, People's Artist Tran Binh continued to borrow money to do business again and revive his career. He borrowed 6 million to organize the concert, invited Ngoc Son and Cam Van from Saigon to perform and won big.

Since then, People's Artist Tran Binh has concurrently held the role of show elector until now, specializing in organizing and directing major music shows, with the participation of all leading artists throughout the South and the North.

He is also successful as a leader. After many years of operation, People's Artist Tran Binh was elected as deputy director of the Vietnam Music and Dance Theater in 1991 and promoted to director in 1994. He is also the longest-lasting dancer with the profession, standing on the stage. until the age of 45.

In terms of personal life, both have found a happy place after the divorce. Overseas, Ai Van married her third husband, a computer engineer, and had a daughter together.

In the country, People's Artist Tran Binh is living happily with his third wife, Director of Contemporary Art Theater Nguyen Quynh Trang.
