Especially, there is Dinh Thanh Trung - Vietnam Golden Ball 2017 and 4 other players on the payroll of Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club.

Accordingly, on May 4, Ha Tinh police conducted an inspection of rooms 501, 502 at B.M. Hotel (Ha Tinh City). During the inspection, the functional forces discovered 5 players of Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club including: Dinh Thanh Trung (SN 1988); Nguyen Ngoc Thang (SN 2002); Nguyen Trung Hoc, (SN 1998), Nguyen Van Truong (SN 2003), Duong Quang Tuan (SN 1996).

In addition, 5 women were arrested along with the group of players: Tran Thi Thuy G. (SN 2002, in Ha Tinh province); Tran Thi Thu P. (SN 2000, in Ha Tinh province), Ly Thu H. (SN 1999, in Dak Nong province), Ha Thi Van A. (SN 2003, in Dak Nong province); Lo Thi D. (SN 2002, in Dien Bien province). This group of 10 people was arrested while organizing the illegal use of illegal substances.

Dinh Thanh Trung is a famous player of Vietnamese football, won the title of Vietnam Golden Ball 2017 and many years was a "god" at Quang Nam club, helping this team win the V-League and Super Cup 2017. In the afternoon of 8/5, the VFF Disciplinary Committee announced the decision to temporarily suspend competition (until a replacement decision is made) in national football tournaments managed by VFF with 5 players of Ha Tinh club including: Dinh Thanh Trung, Nguyen Trung Hoc, Duong Quang Tuan, Nguyen Van Truong and Nguyen Ngoc Thang.

In addition to the disciplinary case, it is reported that the VFF and VPF also had a meeting related to the incident. On the side of Ha Tinh club, although there has not been an official announcement, some sources said that this team has liquidated the contracts of all 5 players.

On the evening of May 8, Ha Tinh lost to Binh Dinh 0-2 in the round of 17 of the V-League 2023-24 in the context that 5 players of this team including Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Nguyen Trung Hoc, Nguyen Van Truong, Dinh Thanh Trung and goalkeeper Duong Quang Tuan have just been detained by authorities on suspicion of using banned substances.

After the match against Binh Dinh team on the afternoon of 8/5, coach Nguyen Thanh Cong of Ha Tinh football club said: "Any individual who violates, that individual will be sanctioned by the club. This is a valuable lesson not only for the players of Ha Tinh team but also for the entire football world in general."

"In terms of the mentality of the whole team at the moment, we are all grown-ups, we know what is more important for the club. The team is always the most important. We still have to ensure the replacement of players who have violated and still have to play," coach Nguyen Thanh Cong added.

Also according to coach Nguyen Thanh Cong, the lack of force at some point of the season is inevitable in professional football. Ha Tinh club now has to get used to playing without the 5 players who just violated the above.

Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong shared: "Ha Tinh team itself has experienced moments affected by the shortage of forces from the beginning of the season until now, because of injuries. Therefore, I think Ha Tinh team can still ensure the replacement of suspended players."
