Fake news about Xuan Son: Vietnam won the championship without him, VFF 'cleans up' social media chaos?

One of the news that attracted attention on social media was the image of the VFF leader being linked to a statement about striker Nguyen Xuan Son, in the direction that this striker's injury proved that the Vietnamese national team did not need him to win the championship.

This is information that VFF considers to be false, seriously affecting the reputation and honor of Vietnamese football. Of course, many fans are deceived by fake information, inciting controversy and division. However, in reality, the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee always highly appreciates Nguyen Xuan Son, constantly visiting the star of the Vietnam National Team.

VFF was forced to issue a notice asking the authorities to strictly handle the situation of fake news appearing on social networks, thereby affecting the honor of VFF leaders as well as members of the Vietnam National Team:

"Right after the Vietnam national football team won the 2024 ASEAN Cup, some social networking sites used images of VFF leaders and some members of the Vietnam national football team to link them with false content. This seriously affected the reputation and honor of Vietnamese football in general, the VFF and individuals in the VFF in particular, with the aim of attracting views and public attention.

VFF requests that social networking sites immediately stop spreading this information. VFF will coordinate with relevant agencies to strictly handle violations of the law.

VFF recommends that fans be careful when accessing information on social networks, always verify the source of information to avoid being misled, misunderstood and possibly leading to wrong actions, unintentionally supporting bad, toxic information that harms the image of Vietnamese football, organizations/individuals belonging to VFF."

Regarding Xuan Son's current condition, the male player is in the process of recovery and entering the rehabilitation phase. According to Master Nguyen Quyet Thang, Chief Technician at the Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Vinmec Times City, who directly guides Xuan Son's rehabilitation, in the early stages after surgery, this player will be supported with modern equipment such as a European standard cold compress system, an electric stimulation machine to relieve pain, prevent muscle atrophy, and a training support robot. Along with that, Xuan Son will also be rehabilitated with a biofeedback muscle training system from Germany and a professional static and dynamic balance system.

The rehabilitation process for player Xuan Son is expected to last at least 6 months, divided into 4 stages with clear goals.

"In the first 1-2 weeks, the goal is to control pain, activate neuromuscular, restore mobility and prevent complications (if any). The next stages will focus on increasing strength, improving mobility, balance and physical preparation. After 6 months of maximum intensity training, if he meets the standards, Son will be able to compete again," Master Quyet Thang informed.

Master Quyet Thang believes that in Xuan Son's case, the biggest challenge is the transition from high-intensity activities to a state of injury, forcing limited mobility. This affects not only the physical but also the mental, requiring close coordination between specialties such as nutrition, psychology, rehabilitation, surgery, along with understanding and strict adherence to Son's treatment regimen.

After surgery, Son needs to follow a scientific training regimen, including time control, weight bearing level and appropriate exercises for both the injured area and the whole body, to maintain physical strength and promote effective bone healing, said Master Quyet Thang.

Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Dung - Director of Orthopedic Trauma & Musculoskeletal, Vinmec Healthcare System said that the opportunity for Xuan Son to return to top sports is completely possible. However, surgery only accounts for 10% of the process, the remaining 90% depends on the recovery process afterwards.
