An Giang: A female health worker died after receiving Covid-19 vaccine AstraZeneca

Doctor Tu Quoc Tuan, Director of An Giang Department of Health, informed that the province had just recorded a case of death due to anaphylaxis after vaccination with AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine.

This person is a 35-year-old medical worker, working at Tan Chau Regional General Hospital. Before administering the vaccine at the vaccination site at the Hospital on the morning of May 6, this female health worker was screened and explained about the side effects.

After the injection, the patient had a shock reaction, which was handled by Tan Chau Regional General Hospital according to the protocol. The hospital also connects online consultation with An Giang Provincial General Hospital and Cho Ray Hospital for timely advice and handling.

Immediately, the patient was transferred to An Giang Provincial General Hospital. The Ministry of Health directed Cho Ray Hospital to send intensive care specialists to An Giang Provincial General Hospital to provide emergency assistance. However, on May 7, the patient died.

The expert council of An Giang Department of Health said that the cause of death was anaphylaxis on the background of allergy, pain reliever and anti-inflammatory. According to the Ministry of Health, this is a very rare case in the practice of vaccination against Covid-19.
