Alice Duong: Transgender singer of Quynh Chau's team, left regretfully in episode 2 of MIQVN

Alice Duong is a familiar name to the LGBTQ community in Vietnam, having made a strong impression when participating in Miss International Queen Vietnam 2025, a reality TV show searching for a Vietnamese representative to compete in Miss International Queen.

As a student of Che Nguyen Quynh Chau's team, Alice brings with her determination and desire to conquer the beauty arena. Although she was unlucky to stop at episode 2, her journey is still an inspiring story of effort, courage and passion for art.

Alice Duong, real name Duong Quoc Anh, was born in 1996. Since childhood, Alice has been aware of herself and has not hesitated to express her unique personality. Her family, at first, had difficulty accepting the path she chose, but thanks to patience and love, Alice has gradually proven herself and received support from her relatives.

Before being known as a gir.l as she is now, Alice Duong had already achieved great achievements in the singing field. Among them, she shined at the program The Voice - Voice of Vietnam 2018, when she entered the top 5. At that time, Alice Duong still used the stage name Alex Duong and had not had se.x reassignment surgery.

In 2022, Alice Duong continued to challenge herself in the reality show Vote for Five, a competition to find a male idol group in Vietnam. Although the show focused on male contestants, Alice, who was still Alex Duong at that time, proved that talent and effort do not distinguish between genders. With her soulful voice, impressive dancing ability and team spirit, Alice led her group through many harsh challenges to win the final round.

Winning Vote for Five not only brought her the title of Champion, but also opened up many new opportunities for Alice's music career. However, after the show, she decided to take a break from her artistic activities to focus on her transgender journey and find her identity. This was a brave decision, showing Alice's priority in living true to her true self.

She once shared on her personal page: "Whether or not I had major surgeries, the moment of ultrasound - according to my mother, the result was already a gir.l... And when I saw the sunlight for the first time, I realized that I was a gir.l - a special gir.l.

All forms of medical intervention, including the use of hormones or not, are based on the aesthetic needs of each individual and are not necessarily required to be recognized as 'transgender'. Returning to Miss International Queen Vietnam 2025, in episode 2, the challenge for the contestants was to create a photo series with the theme "Happy Frame". Despite having a good connection with her male co-star, creating not too bad photo shoots, Alice even won the sub-challenge in Master Class before. However, luck did not smile on her, when Quynh Chau's team lost, she was chosen to enter the qualifying round and had to stop and leave, along with Tran Di - Le Hoang Phuong's team.

Despite being eliminated early, Alice Duong did not consider this a failure but a lesson for growth. She shared that participating in Miss International Queen Vietnam was a valuable experience, helping her understand more about herself and what she needs to improve. After the program, Alice continued to pursue her personal career and participate in many community projects to spread positive messages.

Alice Duong’s journey at Miss International Queen Vietnam 2025, though short, still brought many meaningful values not only to her but also to those who followed the program.
