Trong Tan: The king of red music and his love affair with a cute girl from the same high school

Amidst the turbulent showbiz world, the faithful love story of singer Trong Tan - known as the "king of red music" - and his high school classmate still makes many people admire.

Trong Tan, born in 1976, is a singer of revolutionary music and folk songs. Rising to fame from the Hanoi Voice Contest in 1997, he impressed the audience with his emotional high-pitched voice.

He has continuously achieved success with a series of prestigious awards: First Prize at the National Television Singing Festival (1999), Second Prize at the National Chamber Singing and Opera Competition (2000).

After more than 20 years of singing, Trong Tan has accumulated a considerable amount of assets. Singer Trong Tan and his wife and children are living in a 4-storey house, 120 square meters wide in Hanoi. The red music singer and his wife bought this house in 2009, after nearly 10 years of saving.

The house is designed in the style of a garden house with a small yard in front for planting trees and making an aquarium.

Sharing with VTC News, Trong Tan said: "Coming from the countryside, my nature and soul are still that of a farmer, I love farmers, and I still sing about rice today. I cannot live without nature, there must be trees and birds around me."

Singer Trong Tan's living space in Hanoi is green, peaceful, and filled with trees. In his spare time, he becomes a farmer, finding joy by growing vegetables, taking care of bonsai on the terrace, training birds to sing, and playing with cats.

Trong Tan also has a villa in Thanh Hoa. This is where the male singer's parents live. He said he built a large house because he wanted it to be a gathering place for his brothers and relatives during holidays or when his family has something to do. Every 2 weeks, he takes his wife and children back to visit his parents.

Many people rumored that Trong Tan's villa is worth tens of billions of dong. However, Trong Tan said that he and his wife built this property with much less money than people guessed. In addition to music, Trong Tan and his wife also own their own entertainment company and two food stores in Hanoi.

Love begins with letters under the tree

Singer Trong Tan was born in 1976 in Thanh Hoa. In 1992, while studying in grade 11 at Lam Son High School for the Gifted, he met Dang Thi Thanh Hoa - a grade 10 student in the afternoon class. They got to know each other in a very student-like way: writing letters, writing poems, hiding them under desk drawers or leaving them under trees in the schoolyard.

Sharing with Thanh Nien, Ms. Thanh Hoa said: "We have known each other since 1992, it has been exactly 30 years. That pure love soon blossomed and lasted through the final years of high school. Trong Tan later passed the entrance exam to the Hanoi Conservatory of Music, while Thanh Hoa stayed in Thanh Hoa for a while before also going to Hanoi to attend university.

Studying together in Hanoi – growing together

When she came to Hanoi, Thanh Hoa studied two majors: Business Administration at the Trade Union University and English at the Foreign Language University. At that time, both of them lived in the same city, so they had more opportunities to meet, support and accompany each other.

No longer were the letters hidden in desk drawers like in high school, but their feelings were still full of romance. On anniversaries, Ms. Thanh Hoa still wrote poems to her boyfriend, keeping the habit from her youth.

According to Family and Society, after school hours, they often met at the dormitory or school yard to share about the future. Ms. Thanh Hoa was not only a lover, but also a spiritual support for Trong Tan in the first years of pursuing professional music.

Early marriage and irreplaceable "rear"

After graduating, they got married when they were both very young. Thanh Hoa became a solid support for Trong Tan to focus on developing his singing career. Step by step, he made his mark with the Hanoi Voice Award (1997), the Sao Mai First Prize (1999) and gradually became one of the mainstays of revolutionary music.
