In 2019, Lynk Lee spent more than a billion VND to change gender, after more than 30 years of living as a man. Initially, the singer received many malicious comments, but said she gradually got used to it and was ready to face it. She is happy because her mother, the LGBT community, friends and colleagues always support her. The singer said she feels free to wear beautiful clothes and learn more makeup to look pretty anywhere. In 2021, she had surgery to remove her Adam's apple in Thailand to soften her voice.

It is known that Lynk Lee had to undergo 8 surgeries to be able to perfect and be confident with her female form. She shared in 2022: "After the pain, I can see my image in the future. I used to have to struggle, "force myself" to be the coolest, most manly when standing on stage, in real life and even at home. That time, it was extremely tiring. However, Lynk Lee still has some worries. She said that if she had one wish, she would tell her father that she is a girl and hope he would accept it. "My father passed away without even knowing that I was a girl. I wish he could see me now. I am happy with my appearance and my life. And I believe he is happy for me too."

Because major gender reassignment surgeries are very expensive, up to this point, Lynk Lee has had to struggle to make a living, and making a music product is not easy. However, she believes that everything will be fine and she just needs a happy, fulfilling life in the present.
