Vu's real name is Tran Thai Vu, born in 1995 in Hanoi. Vu is the father of many sweet hits that make many young people fall in love. In fact, Vu is not a family child, nor has he ever been trained in any professional music environment.
Therefore, there was a time when the family was forbidden to participate in artistic activities. Perhaps a lucky thing for Vu is that he grew up in Mai Dich Van Cong Collective Area (Hanoi) - the cradle of many musicians and musicians. However, Vu admits, he learned about music quite late. He graduated from the Commando Officer School, followed the profession for a time, even served as an English instructor at the military school. Also during this time, he composed songs such as Strange, Dong Sword Em, making many audiences sob because of the lyrics and deep melodies.
Vu once shared: "Although I grew up in Van Cong Mai Dich Collective Area (Hanoi) - the cradle of many musicians and musicians in the North, I learned about music very late, in grade 6, from a classmate. My father was a soldier, a teacher's mother. Neither of them likes to watch movies, listen to music, finish "7 p.m. News" and get ready for bed. My parents were always interested in grades, instead of my hobbies of writing, poetry, and music.
From the beginning, my parents oriented me towards a military career. I graduated from Commando Officer School, followed the profession for a while, but my person and soul belong to music. I was finally able to convince my dad and superiors to get out of the industry and stay true to my passion."
Accordingly, that time made him understand more about how his person and soul always belonged to music. In the end, Vu tried to convince his family, then decided to go to the army and choose the path of pursuing his passion, which makes him happy every time he does.
In 2019, Vu officially became the first artist to collaborate with Warner Music Group.
Before collaborating with Warner Music Group, Vu was a "three no's" artist: no media campaign, no reality TV, no sponsorship brands. However, his songs released always receive special love from the audience. In particular, the audience also favorably gave him the name "Indie prince" of Vietnamese music.
It wasn't until My Summer was just 12 hours away from airing that Vu truly believed that his collaboration with Warner Music wasn't a dream, even though he and the label had their first conversations more than a year earlier.
Therefore, Vu shared until about 30/7/2018, it was like a milestone marking the freedom to fly with music, live fully with passion. However, 1 year later, he continued to have a big turning point in his music career.
Vu shared: "Now, with Warner Music with me, I know I have wings to fly into the vast music universe. A "top" live concert, outside Hanoi or music products that step outside national boundaries. And by doing so, Vu's musical universe is slowly emerging..."
Looking back on the first days, perhaps 2016 was a year that made Vu's name, when his songs received a lot of love and sharing on social networks from a large number of young people. The song " Strange" emerged as a phenomenon and captured the hearts of the audience with its sweet lyrics, romantic melody and rustic husky voice like whispering in the ear.
When the time came, Vu continued to conquer the audience with a series of hits such as Dong Sword Em, Initial Minute ... The ballads of the male artist are like a small narrative story in an idyllic life that is enchanting. Thanks to that, each of his products left a strong impression and gradually highlighted his own color in Vu's music.
Recently, after more than 1 quiet year, singer Vu officially returned with a pop ballad called Forgotten Promises. It is the lead single for his 3rd studio album and long-running project in 2024.
In particular, the product also marks Vu's second collaboration with international artists - Dear Jane band - from Hong Kong (China). According to the singer, when connected, both sides feel love and find harmony in each other's music.
During the production, Vu said, this is the ballad with the most complex arrangement among his songs, with a bit of pop rock inspired by Dear Jane. This not only breathes new life into his music, but also adds a climax, skin to the song.
Dear Jane said, "What we noticed when we heard Vu's songs was that his warm, gentle voice brought a lot of emotions, even though we didn't understand the lyrics at first.
We think it's special, not every artist has a voice that can "inspire" you even if you can't understand what they're saying. Great melodies, well-finished mixes, we noticed all this in Vu before writing songs for him."
