K hospital 'empties out' cancer patients: Hospital files complaint, affirms medical ethics?
In recent days, social networks have been abuzz with the sharing of Ms. DTT (residing in Hoang Liet, Hoang Mai, Hanoi) about the negative content at K Hospital.
In the clip, this woman continuously cries, claiming that the doctors and nurses at Tam Hiep K Hospital, Branch 2 (Thanh Tri District, Hanoi) "squeezed the last coins from the pockets of cancer patients".
Specifically, the person who shared the clip said while crying: "Just coming back from Tam Hiep K Hospital, branch 2, I cried a lot because in front of the hospital gate, there were patients who ate a lot of breakfast. Yesterday, the hospital returned the patients and they died in the ambulance going home. I was heartbroken when I was outside loving the patients, but the hospital had so much pain for the patients. They took the last money from the patients' pockets."
This person continued to cry, saying: "Each time a patient goes for radiotherapy, it costs 200,000 VND. How long can a cancer patient live? The last hurdle in life is at the K Hospital, so much suffering takes place there. How many breaths do they have left at the end of their lives? If they bribe, they will get radiotherapy tomorrow, if they don't bribe, they will wait until next week." This person sobbed and hoped that the leaders of the Ministry of Health would intervene to discipline the doctors. Not only that, this person said that a similar case also happened at the K Hospital, Tan Trieu branch 3.
In the face of the above noise, on the morning of August 20, a representative of K Hospital officially informed the press about this incident.
Accordingly, K Hospital affirmed: "The contents stated in the video are all fabrications, slander, defamation, and intentionally insulting the image and reputation of the hospital. This action not only affects the daily medical examination and treatment activities and management at the hospital, lowers the reputation of individuals and the collective organization of medical staff, but also causes panic among all patients and the community interested in the case due to negative, provocative, and inciting information."
Accordingly, K Hospital also affirms that the organization, management and practice of medical examination and treatment are under the strict supervision of the Ministry of Health, ensuring full and strict compliance with Vietnamese laws, operating regulations and regulations of relevant agencies. K Hospital practices according to professional standards and medical ethics, price framework policies and publicly lists prices of medical examination and treatment services according to regulations of the Ministry of Health.
The hospital has sent a report and denunciation of the violation to the management agencies and central and local authorities where the incident occurred. Currently, the case is being handled according to legal procedures to quickly clarify and draw conclusions.
Therefore, the hospital wishes to receive everyone's opinions through the hospital's official information channels: Patient reception department at 03 facilities; Hospital hotline; Suggestion box at hospital departments.
K Hospital also informed about the incident that happened on the morning of August 17. Specifically, Ms. D.TT went straight to Tam Hiep K Hospital 2 to distribute coupons, called on patients and their relatives to come and get food for charity, and filmed patients undergoing treatment. This violated the regulations on patient privacy and regulations on organizing charity gifts of the hospital, affected patients and order in the hospital grounds and was not approved by K Hospital. The incident was discovered by the security team and Ms. D.TT was invited to go outside. However, Ms. D.TT acted like a fool, sat on a chair in the hallway, loudly cursed, insulted, challenged the security guards, and caused disorder in the hospital grounds.
K Hospital promptly reported to Tam Hiep Commune Police, Thanh Tri District Police to coordinate with Thanh Tri District People's Procuracy to promptly prevent Ms. D.TT and her husband from causing disorder at Tam Hiep K Hospital. At the same time, a record of the incident was made, a diagram of the scene was recorded with the participation and witness of relevant parties to proceed according to legal procedures.
All the events of the incident were recorded by images and cameras at the campus of Tam Hiep K Hospital, branch 2, and were extracted and submitted to the authorities, along with full records of the scene, proving that the information being spread is false, fabricated, and slanderous.
In response to the above-mentioned noise, the representative of K Hospital added that the hospital is always ready to listen and receive positive feedback from patients and their families on existing issues, from which it can evaluate and continue to promote or improve, and implement activities that are more appropriate to actual conditions. However, posting videos on social networks with one-sided, unfounded and unsubstantiated content and information, leading public opinion to incorrect opinions and comments will affect the psychology of patients undergoing cancer treatment.
